We travelled to India a few years ago and enjoyed every moment of our journey (well maybe not the train delays and overnight sleeper train) On our return we had mixed thought from loving the country to hating it. After looking back we then knew we had to return and somehow make our mark and to see more of this beautiful country. We didn't have to think to hard about how to do this. We have seen poverty in many parts of the world but India effected us so much that we had to do our bit in assisting. The orphanage search was on, thanks Neena for your help in doing this. We thought that going through an organisation would not be for us as not sure where the money we had to pay would actually go and staying at the orphanage would probably be just to confronting. Neena found us Tia at the Delhi Council for Child Welfare, we were excited. It was mentioned to us why not involve the children we work with at a child care centre, so the challenge was on to try and get as many donations of items and cash (to purchase medical equipment in Delhi). Th waiting time has gone so slow but we are nearly there, excitement and fear consume us....
