Wow, what a day. For one of the few times in my life, I signed on for a package for this portion of my trip. The hotel has been slightly disappointing and I was afraid the tours would be as well, but today was pretty cool. There were only 15 people in a large van, with a young naturalist guide. I was, happily, the only American and, as is frequently the case, the only non-Spanish speaker, so she translated just for me. Now, when I think if whale watching, I think of hours in a boat chasing elusive creatures. Not so, here. When we pulled into "Nuevo Cove," we could see tails and spouts just a few hundred feet offshore, in the very protected cove. The boat ride out to them was, oh, five minutes, and
