email request
One of the best things I ever did was to be a part of your site! I truly enjoy your "wandering's". Recently I shared with my wife about your site and your awesome first hand pictures. She is a first grade teacher and asked me to forward your postings to her school email, as she would like to share them with her students when they are studying specific animals and climates. Not necessarily being a whiz on a computer, I wouldn't even begin to know how to forward even if you allowed it. If you would, could you please send me a URL or something else I can give her, so she too can receive your blogs and posts. I'd deeply appreciate it. Donnie L, White

School kids
Hey Donnie! Thanks for your post! Your wife would not be the first teacher following our travel blog for their childrenĀ“s learning experiences. If you go to our home page on the blog, there is a subscribe button. Just enter the email and you will receive an email each time we make a new post on the blog. Let me know if you need any assistance. Or, just send her email to me under messages, and I can personally add it to the subscriber list. Theresa

Your Poem is Dill-ightful ! :)
Dear Theresa, you have such "skill" when you write about "krill". Did you use a "quill"? If so, I hope you didn't "spill". Sounds like you and Dave are having another awesome adventure! Take good care, stay warm and don't catch a "chill" ! ~ Love Moe

very special moment!
Pretty magical to be all the way down there! Thanks for sharing your experience! did the crew talk about the effects of global warming on Antarctica?
20th February 2014

Climate Change
Yes, Jeremy, there was a talk on Climate Change. There are so many unknowns. But one of the concerns will be, that if Antarctica warms (while other places on the planet cool-that is why it is called climate change and not just global warming), the penguin chicksĀ“ down fluff is not water proof, as are their new feathers. If rain becomes an issue, many chicks will perish, and this will affect the penguins greatly. Krill, the basic food of the entire eco-system, need the ocean floor temp to be less than 4 C, for the eggs to develop and hatch. So, yes, there are lots of concerns.

Congratulations Theresa on being able to join Dave for a tour of Antarctica. We've really enjoyed his blogs. Now we will get your take on things and we can't wait. Glad you are enjoying the balmy temperatures. Chocolate soothes the soul and is a natural anti-depressant. I would be fighting you for that swirling pot of chocolate! keep these wonderful word pictures coming our way.
