Wow! Couldn't of said it better myself Nicely written Ryan. Your description couldn't have been more on target. This reminded me that it's time to pay my homeland another visit. Thank you!
We miss you in Amsterdam Hey Guys!! hoe time flies by!!!!
You are more than wecome in Amsterdam!! ANY TIME!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Sounds like you had a blast!
Bas
Wow Wow.. what a journey you both were on!!!! It was such a pleasure to follow your trip and read the blogs. Welcome back home and it was a pleasure to meet you Tenille. Hope to see you again!! See ya Turkey Day Ry ann.
Great Trip What a fantastic blog, I always looked forward to viewing the pics and reading the stories and desperately wanting to tag along . . . maybe one day I will go on a shortened adventure. It will be nice to finally see you again and hear some more stories, if you are not too tired to talk about them. Hopefully, I will get to meet Tenille finally! Okay kids, rest up!!
Congratulations.... ...and of course, you both have a superb letter of recommendation writer waiting here, at your disposal, when the book is opened to the next chapter.
Love you both, Mike
P.S. Of course the row boat was relaxing. It always is for the one w/ the whip! All you have to do is crack it over the back of the galley slave.
Welcome home! What a glorious journey you have shared not only with each other but with all of us. I loved hearing about new places and seeing through your eyes the ones I have visited.
Come see me in Baltimore if you get down here - I'm still hanging out at Loyola.
But for now welcome back.
Love, Margaret
Great Trip Well, I hope ya'll enjoyed it. For me, it was a great trip, kids, and now I feel less pressed to return to Europe. I've enjoyed every minute of it. Let me know when you're back in the bosoms of your families and then....what's next? Thanks for sharing. Mike
Exotic N. Calif. Hi, ya'll...I'm out of the qoods of N. Calif. and back to a computer, so trying to catach up!! So, Tenille, what did the bites turn out to be? Bed bugs, as Blaine says, or Ryan became a vampire on the night before Halloween?? Sorry about your Greek (mis)adventure. I was looking forward to hearing about it.
Mike
BItes Tenille: Hope your bites are better. I knew I shouldnt have said anything about staying healthy on my last comment. Sorry I jinxed you. See you guys in a few days!!!
Dad
P.S. Blaine just said, "dont let the bed bugs bite". I hope Charlie doesnt go the same grain!! Mom and I are in Florida till tomorrow
Oh My What ashame. That would have freaked me out. 300 bites. I hope you are feeling better now.Greece still looks beautiful despite the weather. I guess you guys are pros at card games now huh? hahaha.Have fun on your next adventure.
God's Country Yes, Tenille, I was up that way...and out of touch, but it sounds as tho the two oif you are making the most of Europe. I love ya'll's stories, but I wouldn't worry about locked gates!! Anyone who sees the photo entitled "Riomaggiore" understands PERFECTLY!!!
Mike
Maggots and no pictures Ry,
Great dinner of second hand smoke and maggots! (What do you think of that -Brett?) We dont have smoking in dinners or bars in NJ anymore.
Also, your pictures did not come thru.
Stay healthy and enjoy the last of the trip!
Dad
howdy Awesome stuff you two! The pictures are beautiful. Wish I could see them in person. Maybe the next time you guys go back packing Europe, you can take your parents!!! Sounds fun, huh??? Look forward to seeing you both when you return to the states. Ryan, you need to come to the good old Pacific Northwest and visit the fam. Scary, huh Tenille! Love you both! Stay safe! Dad
WOW These pictures are amazing. We have never been to any of these countries. Cant wait to hear more about them from you on the Holidays. See you soon.
Bummer It is so weird that I was there! See the white building coming up from the boat ramp - I was 3 or 4 buildings up the hill - crazy. When I was there, however, it was sunny and we we able to experience the beach -'european' style. And while we were hiking along the trail, there was an old naked man wading in the water throwing rocks. Too bad you missed him! P.s. someone is a great photographer!
you lucky bastards i thought i couldnt be any more envious of you two, but now i realize that is obviously false. florence looks so awesome and is def the most beautiful city in the world in my opinion, i hope to go back and live there one day. it looks like you guys are having a blast and keep living it up. tenille, i consider you a member of our proverbial 'family' and look forward to meeting you; take care of the real deal for us. Sgt. Sloppy, bring me back something hot! holla.
why Adrienne wants to know why you are not imitating the statue of David like you did in every other one of your poses in front of landmarks/sculptures...PS... you look like u could be gay happily smiling in front of a naked man..whats up with that
If it's any comfort... ...I'm sitting here in San Salvador, in front of my computer, swadled in two comforters (afghans...whatever you call a homemade blanket) cuz I'm COLD!!! Especially since losing 55 pounds w/ only 5 more to go.
I guess that tower really does lean...what's the solution? If the two of ya'll can't straighten it up (I enjoyed the photos), I guess it's going to fall one of these days!
When do ya'll return? I'm headed to Garberville, CA (landing in Angelina's hometown of Arcata, CA) for a week. Just letting you know I'll be out of the country WITH permission!!
Love you both...be good to one another.
New Orleans Actually Mike I have been to New Orleans, but I must have been too overwhelmed with the stench of garbage, beer, and liquor to notice that people actually had glass cups out in the streets. 2 points for you. How bout them Dawgs. Quack!
thevilla! i'm so excited you guys made it to thevilla! not many make it down to the south but instead just pass through barcelona allowing that city to define their image of spain (which as you guys have seen is a completely different culture). have you guys already left? if not, go to santa cruz (it's the barrio on the backside of the cathedral), there's some really good eats there. and there are some really fun dance clubs down by the river (they're kind of hidden under the bridges but if you find them, they're definitely worth the search!). i'm so envious of you two right now. you guys are missing nothing "readjusting" in the states. life here just seems so boring and dry after el salvador. you're inspiring me to take off again - maybe conquer africa?? :) oh and tenille, you're not missing anything with the bullfights. they are anything but romantic and more like animal torture/cruelty. i'm suprised a bullfighter has actually died in that ring - he must have been a complete moron and tripped over his feet causing him to land on the bull's horns because they make sure that the bull doesn't have a fighting chance from the very beginning shooting it with more and more tranquilizers until the bull overdoses and then collapses. yay bullfighter - you did absolutely nothing there that was remotely heroic, romantic or artful. sorry, i've been prett dark since i've been back in los united. :)
After more than 2 years in Jujutla and Las Trancas, it is time to move on. The plan is to travel Western and Eastern Europe in three months and return Stateside just before Thanksgiving. Instead of group emails this blog will be used to tell the stories, see the pics, and follow us as we make our way from the Dutch windmills of The Netherlands to the Swiss Alps to the African tip of Morocco and east towards the Greek islands. Enjoy and hope to hear from you soon!... full info
