Hi Claire, i just had to stick a comment on to say how impressed I am by reading what you're up. You're doing so much for the local community out there, it really is wonderful that people like you with so much to give can make a difference to lots of people, you should be proud or yourself! I am also rather curious about the shot/porn party?!?!?! But perhaps it's best that i don't ask : ) Keep up the good work and the fun!

Hi Claire! Wow - you certainly know how to party! You're an inspiration and I echo what Chris S said about writing a book as your writing is so interesting. We really miss your dynamic personality around school but it sounds like you're really making a difference to those kids. I welled up when you wrote about the sports day and the fact that they were able to try ice-cream for the first time (I'm so wet!!). It reminded me of sports day at SH and your great 20p race - fantastic...
Can't believe you have 'spare time' enough to coordinate a building project!
Anyway - take good care of yourself and have the time of your life... Gemma x
Hi Claire Just come back from the Isle of Wight. Had a fantastic time and bundles of laughs sharing with Marion. Lots of chats about our age and stuff. Sounds like you're still having great fun. Wish I was there! I must visit Africa. You have inspired me !LesleyXXX
Half term looming Hey chick - good to see you are not letting the side down and still spotting animals and doing crazy things - how are you ever going to settle anywhere after this trip?? One more week of school then it is half term - can't wait - quite an interesting bunch my kids - really enjoying them though - they wee in sinks and bite! All adds to the fun!
Take care - Love Carly x
Great to hear from you It is good that all is going well. the weather is very wet here at the moment we nearly have our own Okavango Delta. A Cesna is a great way to travel. Keep up the good health and having fun.
Love Lilian
Moments of madness! Hey chick - sounds like you are going crazy - those dare devil things you are up to - all sounds like it is right down your alley! I personally would rather be a spectator I think! The animals however - bring it on!! How awesome to be face to face and totally out of control! Have other people got such good stories to tell - or are you the chosen one?
Lots of people at school have been asking after you - asking if I have heard from you. I am really enjoying my second year in Year 2 - have a complete handle on the topics second time round and my class are a bit more challenging behaviourally too which I like. Something to sink my teeth into ... speaking of teeth ... I hope that girl is ok?!
Not much else going on in this neck of the woods. Caio is back from Oz tomorrow for a week then he is off to Oxford - I am taking Friday off work this week to spend with him.
Lovely to get your news... these blogs are such a great invention. Look forward to the next one - say hello to the monkeys for me!

School daze Hi sweets - once again sounds amazing! My flatmates are back from Africa now and I have seen their photos - similar places to where you have been - they said the highlight of their trip was Lake Malawi.
Had the kids for the first time today - mine seem lively already. Feeling like we have been at school for about a month already with the lovely six weeks becoming a distant memory all too quickly. We miss you at school! Suppose you haven't given teaching a second thought with all the new and enlightening experiences that are tickling all your senses!
Well - not much other news really - still thinking about travelling but will feel really stink leaving halfway through a school year - and my lifestyle is hard to give up to be honest - good cheap rent, lots of friends, decent wage and I like my job. Ask me next week and I will probably have had mind switch!
Keep well - good luck with the washing machines!

Loving your emails Hey sweets - you write so well - can definately tell you are a teacher - such interesting detail I feel like I am right there with you! Hmmm - school will be ok i think - mind you getting out of bed 3 hours earlier than I am used to at the moment might not be! And getting any work done (rather than drinking coffee and chatting) in those first 3 'inset' days could be a challenge. I have really enjoyed the hols actually - had a lovely time in Switzerland for 5 nights and a great girlies holiday in Cinque Terre in Italy even though the weather was changeable?! Caio is home in Oz for a month now then back then to Oxford to study so some big changes happening. I am thinking of buying a house either here or in NZ as an investment soon. The teaching English idea is still very much on the burner also - and why can't I do both actually?honestly I change my mind like I change my knickers! Get that from my Mum! Your tour of Africa honestly sounds like none other - you must have researched it so well! Isn't it amazing how we take the smallest things for granted and the simplest of things you crave and cherish when you are faced with not having them.
Willmiss you starting back next week - but never fear - I will eat your share of sweeties on the staffroom table! I am doing a 10k run early October and have been training - might even continue to a half marathon if my running buddy can stick by me - much easier with someone else! Hope you have avoided the dreaded lurgy over there - keep safe and look forward to your next messages about your adventures! Love Carly x
Darling Claire,
It sounds like you are having the most amazing time. We all miss you and hope that you are safe, happy and well. Very little to report here. Back to school on Monday (boo!), but I'm sure you wont be giving work a moment's thought! Saw David and Hans at the weekend for Sunday lunch but other than that every one is getting along well. H is still looking for a new job, but they have found a new house. I'm sure H and M will tell you all about it.
Love you,
Jen
p.s as much as we love your travel blog, shouldn't you spend less time typing and more time sightseeing???!!!! Who knew there were so many internet cafes in Africa!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Glad all's Well Good to hear that you are having a good time. and gaining lots of experiences. and well we are having rain here too. and yes I had to squat behind an 8 inch bush in Africa so I know how it feels. the flies don't take long to arrive at your bum either.
Continue to have a great time, keep healthy.
Love
Lilian
Sounds fab! Wow Claire sounds like you are having the best time - very jealous! My flatmate is in Africa at the mo too and you two have made me decide to go next Summer I think - had no idea that you see so many animals in such a small amount of time and so close! I have been to Switz and Italy for small trips but it pales in comparison to what you are experiencing - good on you girl! Enjoy! Have a drink for me! Love Carly x
wow! What a time you are having Claire! Sounds amazing! I haven't been in touch for ages but after reading your blog, felt compelled to say how proud I am of you for doing such an inspiring life changing thing!! Keep the blog going i'm loving hearing about your trip! Lots of love to you Claire and please no more swimming with the crocs!hehe!! Sarah xxx
I’ve hatched a cunning plan to leave the quaint little town of Ricky and face the world, full throttle! I plan to get up-close and fight off all the African beasties on safari and on a volunteer placement until Xmas time. Next I plan to conquer Oz before venturing onto NZ and then Canada if the pennies stretch that far! During my thrill-seeking encounters, I didn't want all you nine-to-fivers to feel left out, so I started this blog to put a smile on your face during the daily grind. So, as the small town gal is thrown at the mercy of the world, enjoy!... full info
