Yes, we had not been receiving your posts until now, and we were worried...but continued praying and hoped all was well. What a wonderful adventure this is turning out to be for you two lovers! Keep going when you feel well, rest when you
need to, and pamper yourselves when you can. And we will continue praying for you. "Vayan con Dios."

Burgos is where I started my Camino experience. Awesome Cathedral and churches, a coupe of monasteries, lots to see. Rest because you are not out of the woods, lots of rough days ahead. Cheers!

Just catching up with your journey and nearly cried with Mary. Please take it slow. It's not a race, but remember the tortoise and the hare.

I love your pace and perseverance. Hope that your foot is better. I found that three ibuprofen with a double shot of espresso worked wonders

Thanks for the update Mary & Charlie! To answer your question - no we're not receiving email notification. We randomly check and find it here :-) Here is our prayer for you today to the patron Saint of arthritis sufferers: Saint Alpho
nsus, loving Father of the poor and sick, all your life you devoted yourself with charity towards those who suffer sickness. We invoke you as the patron of those who suffer with arthritis since you were afflicted with this disease in your lifetime. Look with compassion on Mary in her suffering. Full of confidence in your intercession we come to you for help in her present need for strength and healing that she may walk many miles (okay Kilometers!) and know God's will for her in all things. Ask God to help guide and protect Charlie & Mary along their path. Amen. Love and Prayers,Brian & Jackie

Sounds like you are hitting your stride. Good tip about the sandals.

Mary and Charlie, It is good to hear from you. Sorry to hear there has been so much pain for you Mary. The last bit into Zubiri is very rough. In 2012 I did not leave my albergue in Pamplona either and took the bus to the next village, so y
ou are doing very well in comparison! Things did settle out for me after a week of walking and being okay with my pace, i.e. not walking anyone else's. I've been reading the albergues are filling early, glad you are going to book ahead for now. It may lighten up on the meseta, or not. Also, if you go off the Brierley guide and stay in alternate/smaller villages, like you did in Espinal, you might find there are more places to stay. Since you've got time, take it! The post is not at all boring, please keep sharing whenever you have the inclination and the wifi. Sending hugs to you both!

thanks for the update - what an adventurous past week+! We are really hoping your knee bounces back Mary, and sending the pack ahead is a great strategy. making a reservation will relieve some of the tension about finding a bed too. We are
sending you and Charlie positive energy for the days ahead! You are really inspiring us - we leave for Porto in 9 days!

This is fantastic. I love the pictures and your perseverance. I'm glad that you can have your pack transported and that you are taking shorter days. Buen Camino, friends.

amp; Jackie Lord, look upon Charlie & Mary with eyes of mercy, may your healing hand rest upon Mary's knee & all Charlie & Mary's aches/pains, may your life-giving powers flow into every cell of their bodies and into the depths of their souls, cleansing, purifying, restoring them to wholeness and strength for service in your Kingdom. Amen.

Thanks for sharing - it's really giving me a sense of what to expect. You're doing a great job - pacing yourselves and making necessary adjustments. The photos are lovely - I particularly like the one with Charlie "saddled up" :) Stay bl
essed ~ Buen Camino!

Mary and Charlie, It is good to hear from you. Sorry to hear there has been so much pain for you Mary. The last bit into Zubiri is very rough. In 2012 I did not leave my albergue in Pamplona either (large, bleeding blisters) and took the bu
s to the next village, so you are doing very well in comparison! It is so good you and Charlie have each other. The magic in Zubiri with the hotel, that's the Camino! FYI, my body did settle down after a week of walking and being okay with my pace, i.e. not walking anyone else's. The post is not at all boring, quite the opposite, the photos are lovely, so please keep sharing whenever you have the inclination and the wifi. Sending hugs to you both! Buen Camino!

This must mean internet connection is spotty. So eager to hear your next posts. We walked 10 miles a day once in UK in perfect weather, but only for 3 days. It's already a miracle that you could take such light backpacks!!! God bless your j

Blessings Dear Friends, You are certainly in our prayers - and we have been thinking about you a lot. We anxiously await your next update. All-powerful God, you always show mercy toward those who love you and you are never far away for th
ose who seek you. Remain with Charlie & Mary on this holy pilgrimage and guide their way in accord with your will. Shelter them with your protection by day, give them the light of your grace by night, and, as their companion on the journey, bring them to their destination in safety. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Love and Prayers,Brian & Jackie

good to hear from you, and it sounds like you are off to great start. I agree with your comments on Gaudi being ahead of his time! and when you get to Astorga, plan on taking in the Episcopal Palace - it is superb too! And I think you will
enjoy sitting on the park bench with Gaudi in the plaza in Leon :) Take care you two!
