Cambodia
Hi Guys, I'm glad to hear Dan and Avi are from Minnesota. Great to hear you have a great time visiting Cambodia. I came to Minnesota in 1981 from Cambodia. I had a stow away from Sihanoukville Port and ended up in Panay Island, Philippines. I am returning to Cambodia next year for my early retirement with my wife after working with Travelers for 30 years. Most of my family members were wiped out in the killing fields. Enjoy your trip and visit Cambodia again! Theary City of Shoreview, Minnesota, USA

What a day...
I don't think you could get more different experiences in one day then being at the Killing Fields and then watching and Eagles football at night. That must have been so surreal for you guys. Honestly, I don't think we (North Americans) really truly appreciate everything we have as a continent, country and democratic society. So thanks for going to some of these difficult places so that you can remind us a little of everything we have to be thankful for!!! Stay safe and have fun!!! :)

Time does fly
Sure hope you are learning how to make those fried noodles with vegetables. I love them too. Your words make me cry again. Where did you come from? Why am I so priviledged to have a daughter so worldy and 'wordy' with the right attitude and prospect on life. Keep enjoying this experience with the one you love. Life is too short and as Grandad said, 'things can change so quickly'. All I can say is We have done our part showing you the life we chose and love LOVING too. Stay safe & keep the blogs coming. Can't wait to touch you soon. <3 months. Love Mom XO

I'm in awe
Hey Becs! It sounds like you're having a great time. Let me first say, that I hold great admiration for Tyler's and your explorative and adventurous spirit. I plan on taking a similar and trip some day soon when I've saved up enough money, but alas, I am a mere armchair dreamer. I look foward to reading your earlier blogs about your travels. I don't know what took me so long to check your blog out, but better late than never. Of course, as karma or coincidence or fate would have it, I'm writing to you about how great your pioneering spirits are and you guys are off the grid now, haha. So, you'll get this message later then planned but, I hope I can still be helpful. In Khmer, Aw Ghun means thank you. Soo S'day means hello, hi, informal use. I await your next blog. Have lots of fun in the sun Becs and send my regards to Tyler. I know he'll keep yoou safe.

Medan comment
Hi!! I read your comment on our blog and wanted to let you know how much we LOVE northern Sumatra! We were in Indonesia about 4 months ago and have another three months of travelling to go. With our last month overseas (February) we are considering coming back to Northern Sumatra because we loved it so much! We had a fantastic time around Lake Toba and want to see more of it. We love Indonesia and think it is a hidden gem that most of the world hasn't discovered yet. You should be proud of your country! The locals (like yourself I'm sure) are VERY friendly. I'm glad you like our blog! Thank you for your comment Rebecca

Prayers for Grandad
Hi Becs and Ty, We will definitely be praying for your Grandad Becs. To ask for prayer is a great thing to do. The more people praying the better. There is great power in prayer. Just remembering that Jesus is with him. In the book of Matthew in the Bible it says, "For when two or more have gathered together (in prayer) in My (Jesus) name, I am there in their midst". Sounds like your Grandad is strong and we pray for him to grow stronger. Hope you can feel some peace with this. Stay in touch and keep us posted! Much love to you both! Mom xoxo

Try not to worry - soon he will be strong enough to go home so he can continue to read your wonderful adventurous blog. Life certainly can be a life altering journey. I am so proud of you two travelling this great adventure and sharing it with us. I willpray for your Grandad and the rest of your family.Take care of Rebecca,Tyler Love, Grandma Shirley xoxo

I am a " religious" person, in fact a Christian. I will pray for your Grandad and your family. I pray your Grandad has strength to heal and that your family will remain strong for him and themselves. I also pray for you honey that you will not worry too much. I do not know your Grandad but I can guess that he is mighty proud of what you're doing. Hang in there sweetie!! p.s. you never have to feel "selfish" in asking for prayer. It is something I have always found comfort in myself. Miss you!!!

No Regrets
As I sit and reflect on what you've written, I'm full of gratitude! Grateful for the amazing experiences you two are sharing. Grateful that you are learning so many wise things to hang on to. I've learned that the more your AWAREness is raised and heightened by experiences, the more you grow as a person. We have choices every day in how we view things, thank God for the gift of choice. We can choose to learn and grow or we can choose to be part of the status quo. Remember, once a rubber band is stretched, it never returns to be the same. Grateful for who you two are becoming on this adventure called life! Much love and gratitude, Mom xoxo

Grandad
Thank you for mentioning Daddy. I believe his strength comes from the adventure you are living that gives him willpower. He wants to see you 2 when you return. As you know he travelled many miles in his youth and admires what you and Tyler are doing. Prayers are obviously working because he is getting stronger and better as time goes on. Continue enjoying your time away and pursuing for dream. The family is strong and we are supporting one another. He wants you to continue and go forward. He'll have some blog catching up to do once he is home, but he knows where you're at. Love you soooooo much and Miss you, Mamma

After a week-end of attending 3 visitations and one funeral, I really related to the words you wrote. Even when I was trying to think of what to put on facebook about this week-end - what I came up with was that is was a week-end of reminders of all I have to be thankful for. Even the little things like how pretty the fall colours are on the trees this year, was something I paid more attention to after this week-end. So I fully understand what you were saying - and don't think you are slightly bonkers [no more than the rest of us anyways! :) ] and I hope that you and Tyler had a great Thanksgiving on the other side of the world!! Safe travels my friend!!
