request to use your blog for our study Hi Josh,
I am a PhD student in the Nottingham University Business School and we would like to get your permission to use your blog in our research regarding travel blogs on Sagada and Banaue. Could you please provide me with your email so I can provide you with more details?
Many thanks,
Carmela
WOW I'm wasn't online much this past fall, but I did see that you were moving out of the country. From reading your travel blog everything sounds so amazing. As long as this makes you jump for joy then everyone you know should want this for you. By now they probably all do. I'm a little late. I'm glad you're doing great. Joshua!!!
Visit Boracay Hope you will find some time to vist Boracay.
Sure you will have a great time on the beach.
Try scuba or kitting - sail with the Red pirates
and enjoy the wide selection of different restaurants
from around the globe - and sunset's you will never forget.
Indeed, miss you guys. Glad to hear you guys are fitting in and finding friends.
Fisherman pants? I'm sure that'll be the new hot style in '09.
Finished Mistborn today. The finish was awe inspiring. Brandon continues his work on the 12th WoT novel, should be done end of '09 and it seems it will be twice as thick as any WoT book before it.
Love the pictures, " !".
re: Your not missing much here.. I am missing all of the snow! That makes me sad. And I will miss Christmas with you guys, for sure.
Language isn't a problem really at all. The hardest part was finding a post office, because I don't think that's what they call them here. We have met quite a few people and mentioned we are from the States and nobody minds. Somebody made fun of my accent though. Said "My name is Josh. Let's go to the mall and buy some sneakers." It's cool though, cause I do say that a lot. :)
Not a lot of wildlife, although I am going to ride an elephant tomorrow. Saw geckos all over the place and a snake and I kicked a spider the size of a softball. Scared the crap out of me.
I will write a new journal entry soon. Have you seen the pictures on facebook and Lily's journal?
Your not missing much here.. But you already knew that. How is the language barrier down there? Anyone giving you trouble about being from the States?
Rainforest? Mountains? Wildlife? Fill us in...all we can give is two snowflakes that don't look alike :( Cya, have fun.
re: the island life Well...their jobs aren't the hardest. Half of the time they sit around and watch movies or play pool. But they do have to be there all day which sucks.
We are trying to find jobs, but they are saturated with Thai people too, so it is tough. We may be heading to another country soon to check it out, but we aren't sure yet. It only costs 30$ to get to singapore from bangkok by plane, so we might check that out.
the island life That sounds amazing. 15 hour days/7 days=105 hr/week. People are insane. How long do you think you are going to stay in southern Tailand? Are you going to find a place to kind of 'settle down' and have a more perminant location for your trip?
re: movies We have watched a ton of movies. All of the restaurants have pirated versions on while you eat and drink. It's pretty fun. That and family guy, friends (**thumbs down**) and the simpsons.
Slurping... I tried to slurp, but the three guys next to me were slurping so loudly, you couldn't hear mine. It was delicious though. And you paid in some sort of vending machine type thing. It was weird.
I don't know about Tom Green, some of his stuff is weird, but I will probably watch it as I am deprived of TV right now.
Japanese Etiquette Did you slurp your soup? I forgot to make you watch Tom Green's Subway Monkey Hour. How did you know how to properly behave in Japan?! We can watch when you return...
I'm so excited for you guys! Wish I could come and visit... who knows? Maybe...but for now enjoy, have fun, relax and take in everything this has to offer you. Most of all have a blast! Love ya!
Best Wishes. I admire your courage and wish i could do the same. You remind me of how much we should cherish life, being able to dream and make those dreams reality. Wishing that your adventure is all you have dreamt it to be and more.
I am living out in San Francisco right now doing a little work. Haven't been worldwide traveling in a little bit, but I have been around the country!
