Arriving to Kaohsiung was not as shocking to me right away as it has been over a few days, once I’d had the chance to continually see that it is pretty much nothing like North America - which is not necessarily a bad thing. For instance - there is no lack of 24 hour stores here…just in case you need something. A good idea - yet I think the Taiwanese could have done a better job at selecting which places these would be (who needs a 24 hour sunglass hut?!). All in all, there is something about this city that is charming despite the pollution which, I can easily say, is the biggest thing that I think I will have to adapt to - other than the traffic…oh, and the smells….and, well, there are quite a
