Well Done! Marvelous effort Roger! What a great achievement. Have been reading your blogs with much interest. It sounds as though you've made a wise decision. Your long-term health is what is most important. You should be really proud of yourself for having undertaken such an arduous journey in the first place! Will be good to catch up with you and Mem eventually over a very cold beer and some good healthy grub :-) Love to you from S & G

Dushanbe Hi G,love to Skype.is today after work ok.about what time would suit you- 7.30pm? That is about 2.30 here I think. I was thinking how you would hate yesterday's flight, squeezed in, it wasn't to turbulent though, no worse than most other flights,no fish smells- no on board kitchen, haha. Hopefully can Skype tonight. Love dad xxx
Hard ride Hi Roger, I have to congratulate you on your 43+ day adventure, I think it's fantastic that you made it so far, definitely something to be proud of. Makes me feel a bit like a wimp with my 2 week / 600 km trips. You only have one body, so look after it.
Hope to ride with you again in the near future. Cheers, Peter
Hard Ride Thanks Peter for your comments. I think now that shorter rides,2-3 weeks, are a great length, and I hope to do many more in interesting. Places. I would enjoy riding with you, so when you are planning future rides let me know. Cheers roger
What a trip Roger,
Just read your last blog - I think you have made the right decision - your health must come first. I think you did brilliantly well and congratulations on what you have achieved. I am sure after all this the spice roads type cycles will seem a little tame! Have a safe trip home. Peter
Departure Thanks for your comments. Actually SR,etc are just right for me, 2-3 weeks, hotel room, similar minded people wanting to see a place differently to most others and generally good food. The ideal from now on. I have a few other ideas developed in the desert which i'llget back to you with shortly.cheers roger
Onwards and upwards Roger, catching up on emails after cycling in the Yorkshire dales with Debbie , Chris and Fran for a few days. We had a great time - the weather was good as were the cream teas. I told them about your trip and read some of the blogs to them. All send their love and all think you are having an incredible adventure full of amazing experiences but of course tragedy ( the Finnish cyclist) and your own hardships actually participating in the trip. You certainly are getting away from it all and we are all in awe of your stamina and staying power. Look after yourself! Peter
21 July Hi Roger
Sounds like you are seeing some very interesting country and some less than interesting food. I also read how sick you have been and glad to hear you have made somewhat of a recovery! End of the day I am assuming that this particular trip will be a once-in-a-lifetime, other rides yes but this particular one no, so with that said this is a great experience that will never happen again and you will look back on this trip in years to come only remembering the good parts and the other parts will fade away.
Keep on counting to 100, I like that!
Cheers

Laughlan Please give our congratulations to L and his bride, we wish them every future happiness.
The trip is tough, maybe more so than me. Decisions to be made. Cheers R
Hard riding Roger, hope you are totally recovered by the time you get this. Very much appreciate and enjoy your daily journal. Is this the most remote part of the tour?
Expectations Hi Roger, curious if mysterious Kashgar has lived up to your expectations? I've always wanted to go there too, but I think I would choose an easier way of getting there than you. Peter
