Here we go Again Good luck with the ride Roger - looking forward to reading about your adventures. Does make my Lands End John O'Groats look a little tame - but hey from little acorns!
Acorns Hi Peter, its all relative. I had a look at your trip. Awesome and looks tough. So this may be longer, but not likely tougher. We' ll see!!! Keep in touch. Tell me if they are boring. Cheers Roger
on the road to Marrakesh....all on board the train (out of town) HAHA HA HA...I sooo could have saved you the time, but hey, you came you went you saw, you are now leaving! Its ...interesting....smelly definitely, so wish I had known I could have given you the lowdown, go down or no go!! Did you happen to go to Essaouria by the sea. Lots more interesting and clean souk, and seafood straigth out of the ocean cooked in front of you. Souk is spotless, no stinky piddle smells. But if you dont like mystical, lost in time experiences...Morocco perhaps is not your style. Toilets never work, danger to your health!!! Hotels are little better than Riad, but then Riads (high priced ones) are normally good enough. Casablanca...yep, not much difference there. The Sultans mosque is great but you cant get in. But really little difference. Any all this comes from someone who has travelled the place many times thoroughly. anyway, hope you Bahia Palace, the views are beautiful across the madness, but to the atlas mountains they can be amazing. You saw the gardens so thats probbly the best Marrakech has to offer. Did you sample any food in Jemma El Fnaa?? Did you go to the tannery? allways smell chanel no 6 when there...Mint leaves!!! so where to next??
istanbul love the photos! such memories! simits...have you had them, great in the morning and a filler anytime. So you went to Hafiz Mustaphas....great sweets plus..not great on hips tho. My favourite place was the cistern, although your photo of medusa is a lot clearer than mine.......did you try garlic pizza turkish style...so awesome in taste! anyway...just cathcing up on some of the emails....my access went down, but we're back!!
Loutraki trek Mem, where is your warm jacket...even I would freeze in that jacket girl!...and thats saying something with all my added warm as well :-) Looks beautiful where you are. Will you get across to a small to med island called Andros just off Athens, home of the shipping tycoons!! Marks family came from there..they owned Coulathros Shipping. It supposed to be beautiful. Are you going to Samos or Chios Island as well?...well, Im enjoying the photos and commentary...your getting good at this roger!! am just setting up the blog for us, but really looking forward to going now...not counting at all, its only 23 sleeps away.......picked up the details of the 7 night cruise...staying in prague for 5 nights before moving across germany and france...yep, we're excited. Anyway, glad to see you both are enjoying yourselves there...keep it coming! xx
