Aussie's
Learning Aussie slag sounds like the fun I've had learning Pittsburgh Slag. But great to hear about the activities you get to partake in. Sounds like you are getting more in fun than anyone I ever knew on vacation. But quick question, does anyone that finds a possum in their house decide to keep it as a pet?

Billabong
I have be watching for your blog and it did not disappoint. Thank you for sharing this fabulous experience with us. Last night Dad and I watch a PBS Nature show about Black Saturday, Feb 7, 2007 when there was a forest fire in the south of Australia that burned 1000s of acres . They showed the Wombats along with other animals that needed care and how cute the Wombat is. It was amazing how the forest has recovered. Daddy just came in and read your blog and said, "She is never coming back". Is Mr. Almborg still there? I love you tons, Mom

Intense Sunburn discussion
I agree with Marcus, there are too many rules. Like apply fifteen minutes before going in the sun, but let it dry before putting your clothes on, I mean really they want you to stand naked in the bathroom for fifteen minutes just waiting and then when you reapply theoretically wouldn't that have to be back in the shade as well? I know that on my honeymoon I had bought th 100SPF with helioplex and followed every single rule, including reapplying every 2 hours, and I still got burned to a crisp when I went snorkeling! Until they invent a SPF in pill form, I think I am resigned to life as a burnt beach bunny, because I really do love the sun.

Well thats one way to get a Tan
There seem to be alot of rules for suntan lotion. Apply to dry skin, not wet. Apply after coming out of the ocean. Reapply after 4hours.

Tell Heather I said hello
I haven't seen Heather or Simon in as long as you haven't be for this trip so please pass along my hello. Geez, 10 and 8 years old. Its been forever. Being that Barbados use to be a British Colony, I can understand your fear of people driving on 'wrong side' of the road. First day I was there I knew if I had to rent a car to drive to the hotel we would have wreck. Every turn the hotel courtesy van took I could imagine myself screwing up. Every morning the local new would report of a car accident caused by tourists on the wrong side :)

Professor Simon
That was cool that you met one of Simon's students. Did he work for customs or was he going through custom? Not sure how his course work with Simon coordinated a job with customs unless his specialty was checking for bugs. :-)

Hey from Charleston
Loved reading about your visit to California! I am ready to go again. Tom and I went to San Francisco for a couple of nights before taking a cruise to Alaska through the Inside Passage. We spent one day in San Diego and loved it also! Tons to do! : ) We did not make it to the zoo. I would love to go to Santa Barbara! Hope you make it to Australia - LOOONNNG trip! Can't wait to hear about it all. You are a brave little one to take off on your own! You will learn so much about yourself! Hugs! Lea

Wine Tasting
Never spit when tasting wine, it takes away all the fun! Besides how else are you supposed to savor the different flavors that linger once you swallow? I would love to visit Napa Valley one day! Drink an extra glass for me!

First Post
In the tradition of Internet Commenting. FIRST! But in all seriousness, I wish my sister the best of luck in her trip. It is a big undertaking in not just doing but in all the little details that had to be planned or considered. Have fun but stay safe. If anything happened to you, I would feel guilty for convicting you to make your dream a reality.
