Good Job John
Well done. I appreciate the effort you put into your documentation but resent your statement about the "old coggers" at the 45th reunion; some were very old!
Great photos John and Mary, I'm enjoying your photos, as well as the entries. I got to see my old Peace Corps buddies two years ago in Portland, OR where we did our training. You all look like you are having a great time.
Jan Owen Jan's son sent me a recent photo of Jan ... respond to floridamiller@verizon.net ... I will try to locate it and send it on to you. He is quite elderly now ... John Miller/Aquiferman
Santiago, 1965 I remember Jan Owens very fondly, He was so understanding for us who needed a lot of understanding as we "grew" in the Peace Corps. I lived in a little pink house down in the barrio near the river and on a number of occasions would cross that btidge to get a little encouragement from Jan.
I eventually moved first to Puerto Plata then to Imbert but it was the encouragement of Jan that helped along some of th rough roads.
Youngest PCV John, I'm Jan Owen's son. I think he may have been your regional director in the DR. We lived in Santiago and at 8 years old, I felt like I was the youngest PCV around. I remember the times fondly and I am thinking of going in Feb to represent my dad. He would so much like to go but his health prevents travel. He loved every volunteer he worked with.

Much work and personal life has involved travel: Panama, Mexico, Central America, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, much of Europe and Alaska and Canada (these last two being our favorites).
I spent 1962-64 in the Dominican Republic as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Since then much of my life has been devoted to groundwater supplies and groundwater contamination and protection studies in North America, South America and Central America. Eight years ... full info
