Abby - if you only have a week I would recommend the Galapagos for sure although it is a lot more expensive! The Amazonian lodge was Nicky Lodge (not sure about the spelling) but it's in Cuyabeno so you should be able to find it easily on google. 4 days was plenty (I would probably suggest 3 actually). Good luck!
one week only:galapagos or el oriente? Hi! Your message n photos are so helpful in orienting me to what I will experience. My husband my 3 kids...12,14, n 16 and Iare planning a trip to el oriente. What is the name of the lodge where you stayed? How many days would u recommend?
Yikes nasties Anj. Glad Vick wasn't with you in the Amazon otherwise I would have heard the screaming from Australia. The only way she will see the Amazon is from the window of a 5 star hotel. Have fun !!!
Amazing! I had to comment to say your photos look amazing! We are also thinking of taking a tour to the Galapagos - would you be able to recommend the Company you used? Many thanks. Nicola.
Tour company HI NIcola
Thanks for your comment. I went with Gap Adventures and unfortunately I wouldn´t recommend them. They changed boats on us and I won´t go into details, but it wasnt an ideal trip! Shame, as I have travelled with them before and would recommend their regular tours. Nonetheless I had an amazing time so highly recommend the Galapagos, just go with someone else!
Happy travels,
Angela.
I hate you! No content to this really. Just read the last post and felt that - with the advent of the cold weather here and me thinking I needed to bring out my winter coat already - reading your posts haven't really helped!
Sound beautiful and glad you are obviously loving it!
I miss you ... ;-)

Hahaha!! Love this pic Anj! There's so many captions I could write here! "I already know about your new Converse sneakers Steve!!" or "Not-Bali Belly strikes at awkward moment.." Haha sorry I couldn't help it! ;-)
Great memories Hi dude. This was such a great trip! Can't believe it's been 4 years already. 4 years on and you are off on another big adventure, the wallabies.are.still
Small correction "we are the champions" England is the champion team as they won it last time. They remain champions until they are beaten this weekend (or just maybe Johnny W delivers another miracle game and they remain "champions")
Love your work! Hey Anj,
I'm loving your entries - man you do your research - these blog entires are becoming my weekly global fix in the same way Uge takes me away from the office with aquabumps, you take me around the world with the blog!!

globalisation Agree with your comment about European cities love. There's a Pitt Street mall in every place, thanks to globalisation. Hope you won't be disappointed by Wenceslas Square in Prague...at least there's a garnet jeweller between each chain store! Secret is to frequent these areas when you're homesick for a latte or retail fix then leave. In Prague you only need to turn left at any corner and there's something historic or beautiful to encounter...enjoy!!
missed it this is one of the places that i missed and really bummed that i did. Oooooh i would really love to get back to Europe! It looks amazing Anj!
Travel Journal Great work Anj. Love your travel diary. I did try to read and share with the boys your travel stories, however, they are only interested in looking at the photos! Happy Travelling.
Keep up the good work! Hi Anj, Just wanted to say how much I enjoy reading your journal, I almost feel as if I'm there. Wish I was! It's pouring with rain here in Sydney, and also quite cold. Take care and hope you are feeling better now. Di xx
Accommodation Hi Michele, we did a lot of research and chose the town of Vernazza to stay in. It's one of the smaller towns in Cinque Terre but the prettiest and has a lot of charm. It has a small harbour which you can swim in, but if you want the beach I qwould stay in Monterosso, but it is bigger and more touristy. You can get between the 5 towns by train and ferry so I still think Vernazza was the best. We had a great apartment, was 2 mins from the water, no water view (these will be hard to find in an apartment) but was only 100E a night for 4. Website is below - good luck!

Accomodation Hi
Your site and photos are fabulous.
Can you please suggest a nice place to stay near the water centrally located where we can explore all 5 towns? We are 3 people.
cheers
Michele
