Old and new - inside the Arena

I love Roman amphitheatres
I absolutely love Roman amphitheatres. I have seen Colosseum in Rome and the one in El Djem in Tunisia and a few more. I see from your photos that the one in Pula must be visited as well. /Ake

I love Roman amphitheatres
I'll need to check out the one in Tunisia. There are a few gems like that in Turkey as well, I loved the amphitheatre in Aspendos (https://www.travelblog.org/Photos/6852225)

Congratulations
Thanks Dave and Merry Jo! I have no idea how people do it with twins, one is more than enough to keep you on your toes all the time ;) Pula was definitely a great find, totally recommend it!

One more please?

One more please
Yes, Zagreb sure is beautiful, even though we didn't really give it full attention it deserved... A bit late with responding as you can see... What can I say, the last few months were a bit hectic... as the day after I posted the last blog, we became a family of 4! Welcoming to the world our son Daniel :)

Walking through the bobsleigh tracks

Oh so cool
We visited Sarajevo but never visited the various Olympic arenas. That's for next time because I'd love to see them./Ake

Walking through the bobsleigh tracks

Oh so cool
I didn't even realise you could visit any of these sites until we found the tour. It was definitely worth it checking it out

Yes, some really nice sunsets in Sarajevo

Sarajevo
What a fascinating tour of this pivotal city of so many historical implications of the Balkans, Anna. One can only hope that the economy can improve so the populace wish to stay and help it's revival. Your European tour makes me excited to head off on our own next adventures...six weeks and counting! Hope we eat as well as you do!!!

Sarajevo
I really do hope the politicians do start to work together to improve the standards of living of their people in this country as the country has so much to offer! Happy to hear you're off on your adventures again! Enjoy! Looking forward to reading your blogs!

Tired of eating Pizza??
Surely not?? It is so hard travelling on a budget when it comes to eating and the cheapest thing you can get is either pizza, pasta or burgers and you would just love a huge steak. Shelley always craves a proper salad but alas ends up with a cheesy pizza. Mouldy shower screens, particularly in small showers was Shelleys biggest travel hate, so she shares your pain/anger. So glad you took us to Hvar as we wanted to go there but just ran out of time and we also read that it was expensive, it does look amazing.

Tired of eating Pizza??
The island was really lovely, even though we only saw a tiny part of it... Thankfully the crappy accommodation didn't ruin the experience for us. I guess you can get tired of pizza, but only for a little while ;)

Did someone say burgers!
Damn! we didn't get to eat at Kanton Paulina - I guess we will need to go back. We both love Game of Thrones but it is a bit of a curse on the Croatian coast as it tends to multiply the tourist trade, but thankfully for you guys being out of high season you probably didn't get the huge tourist crush. When you work you really look forward to the public holidays and long weekends but boy they can be annoying when you are travelling and everything is shut. Loving the photos and the stories.

Did someone say burgers!
It was a really nice little place and so cheap! And yes we were very lucky as there were no tourist crowds at all... Thanks for reading :)

Welcome to B & H
Glad the minor police shakedown wasn't too much trouble. Sleeping children are always a blessing. You are really ticking off the countries. I like the looks of this one. I would like to wander old town.

Welcome to B & H
We really enjoyed Mostar, probably would've enjoyed it even more if it was a few degrees warmer. The Old Town was really nice!
