Hello everyone! So we have safely arrived in Thailand after countless hours of bad movies and uncomfortable sleeps. Our two hours in Taipei were thrilling and completed with a meat in a bun sandwich (which was delicious) and some soup that was truly awful. Bangkok airport is really beautiful. Next to YVR possibly the nicest I have been to. We spent about 45 minutes there clearing customs and waiting while my professor ran about doing things. Our first stop was Pattaya. For those of you who don't know, Pattaya is famous for being the "Red Light District City" of Thailand. So lady boys and hookers were everywhere. Hello Everyone! So I am all set up here (on my computer/the internets) and ready to write to you for the next three months. I will be heading to Southeast Asia with SFU Field School to study the ethnic minorities/politics/everything about the area. The field school will go from Thailand to Laos to Vietnam and following I will most likely be traveling (with Tyson and Linnaea and whoever else we pick up) to Cambodia and southern Thailand. Then Tyson and I will head for a quick jaunt to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur before flying home. This is the current plan, let's see if I actually stick to it.
