LOL Sorry found your blog hilarious!
Glad to see everyone came through unscathed but yes, most things that require a 3am start generally tend to stuff up. Thanks for the good read :)

Bitten by mosquitoes but you survived!
A great tale of what proved to be a wonderful experience. Anastasia, you are one brave lady. Note to my children: Please, please do not give me a balloon trip for a special birthday gift. I am not afraid of heights, but recent statistics for ballooning accidents (Jan 2012: 11 dead in NZ, Aug 2012: 6 dead in Slovenia) are not persuading me to give it a go any time soon!

LOL!
Sounds so fun! I've always wanted to do that! I would have been laughing right along with you!!!

:)
Those balloons wabble quite a bit, don't they. I went up on one when I was in London, and took a photo of a place I used to live from up there. I lost the photo though. :( It was taken in the days before digital cameras, so the only copy is on a strip of film that I also lost.

NO MENTION OF ANTIQUITIES???
I would have thought a balloon flight over Luxor would entail flying over pyramids & temples...what happened there? Must say I find ballooning is the most peaceful, restful, quiet experience...suggest you don't try gliding or being the projectile in a human cannon!

another great chapter
LOL, you go girl ! (funny though- you were afraid of flying and you had Superman with you)

Have you lost your mind?
I have never met someone, who has a fear of heights, sign up for a hot air balloon ride!! So, did it work. Do you have no fear of heights now? Great story!

Fear Not Conquered
Um, no. Still afraid of heights.

Can't resist travelling to places where you've been warned off. As you discovered, some of the friendliest souls live there!

A bomb, a revolution--quick, go!!!
Good for you for trusting that there are good people everywhere at all times. I went to Istanbul, Madrid and London after bombings. There were few tourists, so locals were very happy to see me. And as you say, there may be the hassles, but generally the kindness of strangers makes up for this. Congrats on your hard travel to magical places!

I really enjoyed this read and I know nothing about shoes, nor have any interest in them. I dig your writing flow. Witty, well-paced. *props* Happy travels, Happy Life. ^_^ -Matthew

Yet another fun and entertaining entry!
Really enjoyed this blog & the few others I have read so far, well done! These are fun, and love the dialogues, make me smile! As for the camping...can only understand how miserable you must have felt, spent myself few months under a tent two years in a row for summer job when I was a student, and sure was a bit better (well at least wasnt missing any part of the tent..) but when the first flooding came in wasnt as fun! I now only keep camping for special places which i would not enjoy the same way if I was for instance in an hotel a few km from the site, most of the time I wont even call it camping as it doesnt involved a tent at all (save you the hassle of putting the puzzle together...) Looking forward to your next blog!

Me and my tan friend

:)
This photo shows you doing yet something else that Indians would find strange. Only low caste poor Indians sit on the ground or floor in India, so it would seem strange for a white western person to do it, as we are always granted high status for no real reason. At least, that is how I intepreted how the sitting on the floor was seen, when people gave me strange amused looks, for sitting on the train floor beside the women with baskets of things to sell. I didn't care what people thought or expected, because there were no seats left, and the best view was to be had, sitting on the floor at the open train door, not to mention the cool breeze when the train was moving. :)
