Here we are, sitting on a train on our way to Roma!!! It'll be a long day of trains since we've had to transfer a few times. It seems like a lot of ticket offices don't really know what they're talking about and we're talked to travellers who are all being told different things. For example we were told we couldn't buy our tickets all the way to Rome since we were in France and switching in an Italian town. We talked to people who bought tickets from Florence to Rome! So we show up at the station hoping there is room on the soonest train to Rome and we got lucky! And we're pleasantly suprised that the train isn't the crapbox train we've had the last few travels, and we're heard italian trains are terrible! ... read more

The coast of France hasn't really changed in the last 6 years, just as pretty as it was before. The rest of the trainride was good because we had to swtich trains 2 times and didn't get a train as crappy as the first one again! After having spent over 12 hours on or between trains, we finally rolled into nice at about 10 last night. Our hostel is so great they have a shuttle that comes down to pick you up when you get to the metro station. We arrive at our hostel and find cheering and yelling, all around partying and drunkness. this is a party hostel!!! the bar serves tall cans of beer for 1 euro....how could i not take full advantage of this?? kit's an unfortunate thing that alyx doesn't like beer, ... read more

Lets rewind 12 days.....man i suck at keeping this blog timely! Madrid. freaking fantastic! i left off that we were meeting up with kristen and grace from virginia...it took us so long to find a place to eat and they were so hungry and broke that they ended up getting burgers from burger king! yeah....there are ... read more

Wow, I just realized i haven't said anything about Paris. I have some catching up to do! It feels like we didn't do that much in Paris, just took it easy. We met this awesome aussie girl and hung out with her a lot, actually switched rooms in our hostel because hers was WAY better and empty. muahaha. One thing we had to do was make a day trip out to Versialle and it's crazy how grand and intiricate and EXPENSIVE this friggen place was. King Louis the 14th built it and was called the sun god because he looooved gold and the whole gate outside is gold. (learned all this from Alyx the history major instead of taking a tour!! haha) So we walked through the whole building and saw a lot of the peices ... read more

Hello from brussels! Actually, we're just about to leave Brussels on our way to Paris on our eurostar fast train!! Ok, I've gotta think back to where I left off last time, in Amsterdam I think only on our second day or so. It seems like a while ago now! Alright...well our hostel lets your rent bikes to get a real feel of Amsterdam from the locals perspective. So for a day we rode these bright yellow rental bikes around town. Vondelpark was one of our first stops, just this big park in the middle of the city. I'm quiete directionally challenged so Alyx is the one who leads us around haha. Unfortunately she lost her bearings for a bit and was leading us around town not really knowing where we were going. She ended up ... read more

We made it! After a delayed flight, the iceland volcano let us pass!! We got into Amsterdam yesterday at around 4. The bus we took from the airport could hardly fit us with our bags, but we made it happen!! Our first hosrel is really clean and even though 18 people can fit into the room we're in, only 5 of us altogether so we got to catch up on sleep. It was much needed since I couldn't sleep at all on the plane!! it really made for a long ride haha. Alyx on the other hand slept the whole way so she woke up really early this morning and coulnd't go back to sleep while i waa snoozing! Anyways, this hostel we're staying in is called hostel jordan and iit's actually a christian hostel, so ... read more
