They wouldn't let you into the palace, so you knocked it down with a trebuchet? You were just on the wrong side of the tracks. Next time you're lost, dip one end of a baguette in some red wine, and then let it float in water, and it'll point north.
You started a meatball fight with a douche? Keep wearing the 3D glasses for the rest of you world tour. The rest of the sights should look that much better!
Paris Amanda, Now THAT's a nice hotel room in Paris - towel warmer on the wall, room for a desk, vanity counter with the sink! LOL Have you figured out that you do NOT tip the waiters at French restaurants, unless you want to just give them the change? They include the tip in your menu item. :) Hope your stomach did okay this trip. :)
I'm a wuss - Memphis is in the 20s and we can't leave soon enough - for Florida. Of course it isn't toasty there either but the Whole US is COLD. I guess it's globalwarming
I wish I would have thought to get Mammie and Pappie's address from way back when when they lived there. It would have been neat to have you take a picture of it to show to her. But alas my brain just wasn't thinking.
What a whirlwind. I feel anxious everytime I read your blogs because you're so busy.
It sounds like you have made some wonderful friends. Friends you will have for life.
Amsterdam When I went to Amsterdam a few years ago, I was surprised at Anne Frank's house. From the book (journal) I expected it to be much smaller... It was small relief from what I had imagined... But still so sad. We went to the red light district and I actually cried when I saw the women there! So... that's when you go to a coffee shop, buy a joint, sit on a canal and watch the world go by!!! Glad you had fun, sounds like you're having a great trip!!! XOXO
You walked through the red light district with a bottle of WIndex and a squeegee? Anne Frank's house to Amsterdam's "theater" in one day. Not sure what to make of that.
You played Germany's favorite game: Musical Mattresses? Did you find Natasha in a state of popsicle in the AM? Remember, you can always burn the furniture for heat.
Hi Jonathan! Glad you stopped by :) Friended you on Facebook so please accept or you will make cry and I don't wear waterproof mascara ;) NYE in Prague was great- I should get the blog updated this week so you guys will see pics soon. Where did you hang your hat that night?
hi hi Amanda!
how are you - just thought I would check in to say hi and see what you were putting up on your blog!! hope you had a good christmas and new year .... ! cheers jonathan
You saw Marlon Brando and Sylvester Stalone in Prague? Hills, Castles, and Bridges, oh my! Amazing looking place, but not sure I'd want to hike about in 10 degree weather either.
Crack is whack! Hey Amanda!
I finally got around to looking up your blog and I love it! It reminds me of so many of our funny incidents (I love the way you write!), the joy of puttering around Europe and the lovely people that I had the pleasure of spending 3 weeks with...oh yeah, and you too! :-P
I love your photos and can't wait to see more, so let me know when you manage to get them uploaded to Kodak Gallery!
Where are you now? What crazy adventures have you had since I left...other than the Rotterdam incident of which we do not speak? Hee hee hee.
Stay in touch!
Luna
Oh Christmas. I wish I had been with you at all the Christmas stalls. You know how I am about Christmas. Love, Love, Love it! But you probably would have wanted to kill me after a while because I would have wanted to look at, and experience it all.
I am experiencing "Fernweh" which loosely means "an ache to travel."
