Yes, that's right. We're millionaires! It's almost 29,000 Vietnamese Dong to the pound so it's not too hard. Alex has already made all the 'Dong' jokes I ever care to hear..... -__- The bus from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City (otherwise known as Saigon) was very long but thankfully for the most part we were spared the Cambodian music! I must say I loved everything about the country except that... Haha. Saigon is CRAZY. There are 9 million citizens and 6 million motorbikes. We took a video of us crossing the road... an event that's enough to satisfy any thrillseeker! It's absolutely insane the amount of motorbikes that are here. Zebra crossings do not mean zebra crossings, what you have to do is walk slowly and steadily into oncoming traffic and hope they'll go ... read more

Hello all, Sorry we have been unable to write up a new blog in the past couple of days but we have been away from the internet :( However! Much has happened since our last post but we won't be able to put up photos just yet as our camera is charging. We'll upload them next time... When we last left off we had gone to the beach and since, we have returned back to the capital Phnom Penh. The day before yesterday we went to go see a waterfall (this was when we were still back in Sihanoukville). It was quite extraordinary as it had been raining non-stop for about a couple of days so the water was really high! There was a rickety old bridge that crossed from one side of the river to ... read more

...Even if it's raining! Sadly the weather here in Sihanoukville is a bit rainy and wet! But that didn't stop us having an awesome day. If the weather was good we could have had the option to visit some of the nearby islands and go snorkling, as the water here is usually clear and blue - it's very stormy though so we didn't do that, and the other option was visiting a mangrove park which I think would have been beautiful and had some more wildlife to see but we thought we should save our money just in case the weather is better tomorrow... So last night we arrived in Sihanoukville, dropped our laundry in and went for dinner at a beach bar! It was great fun and we had jugs of local beer for $2 ... read more

When we last left off we were leaving Siam Reap for a one day stop off in Kampong Cham. I had absolutely no idea where this place was or what it was like, but it turned out we had an absolutely amazing time there. Our hotel was a crazy warehouse thing that seemed in the process of renovation, as usual we had the resident bathroom gecko! (We named this one George). We had a beautiful view out of the window which I will try to upload, of the mighty Mekong river and a big bridge going across it. What made Kampong Cham so special though was that we all rented bicycles from the hotel and Kakada led us to an island in the middle of the Mekong river where people live, he told us to bring ... read more

So it has been a while since we managed to write a substantial entry so we're gonna try and do one now! We don't have too long though and we have borrowed a camera wire off one of our newfound friends. We arrived in Bangkok and as we put in the last blog we had an absolutely CRAZY taxi driver from the airport to our hotel, I actually feared for my life and he didn't seem to know the concept of 'overtaking' ... preffering to weave in and out of traffic like a crazed madman! Our guesthouse in Bangkok was close to the Khao San Road (infamous backpacker ghetto)and we went there, bought some bracelets and got harrassed by lots of people selling those wooden frogs that make a noise when you scrape their back...Alex already ... read more

Hi all, Sorry we were unable to write a message yesterday when we got in but everything was so hectic and busy we still hadn't found an internet cafe. The trip was fine, the bus ride went without a hitch and infact it was very nice (no 5 year old bus drivers...I think he was older than 8.) The guesthouse is okay here although we have a little friend sharing our room (a gecko called Gregory) but he mainly stays under the sink so it's all good ;) (You can probably tell it's Kelly writing now haha) Can't write much now as we have to go for dinner but we will write a longer post (and believe us it will be long) tomorrow as we have lots to tell you about... To whet your appetites and ... read more

Today is our last day at the Anantara Resort and Spa here in Koh Samui... It is almost 10 o clock and we are heading off at half 11. We have had a great time here relaxing and have both got a bit of a tan which is good... We have had a bit of a disaster as we decided to wash our clothes but it's time to leave and they are still damp... NOOOOOOOO. Yesterday we took lots of exciting photos and HOPEFULLY we may be able to find a camera wire so when we go to internet cafes we may actually be able to put up some photos. We shall see. Alex is close to tears at the thought of leaving the luxury resort and has been calculating how many more weeks we would ... read more

Alex says that if he hears the phrase in the title one more time then he will punch someone in the face. Ahh such diplomacy. HOWEVER last night we had our free Aromatherapy massages and they were amaaaazing. It was so relaxing and we were massaged all over, even hands and feet! So all in all it was a lovely ending to a day... The night before last we had our first tropical rainstorm. It was quite funny (Kelly thought it was sad) but there was a wedding that day and the heavens opened-the first time it wasn't sunny! Possibly a sign? I chuckled an evil chuckle. *MWhahahahaha* There was thunder, lightning and a lot of water. So we stayed inside, mocking the people dressed to the nine's, all wet, whilst we chowed down on room ... read more

Hi all, Not much has happened in the last couple of days (apart from more sunbathing, more eating and more swimming). BUT There seems to be something in the pool that is turning things green including my (Alex)'s swimming shorts :0 So in true Alex fashion I marched to the front desk and demanded somebody's public execution for it. Not only did they clean them (free of charge) Kelly and I got 120GBP worth of massages which we will be redeeming shortly :D :D we're thinking of buying a green highlighter and doing it with some other pieces of clothing. Good times good times. The weather here is still amazing; it was a bit cloudy yesterday which lulled us into a false sense of security and we got a bit burnt but we are still happy ... read more
