I'm a native Miamian, born and raised in this city, and also of Cuban heritage. I am a healthy balance of french fries and fried plantains... it's the ultimate! I suffer, for lack of a better word, from "gypsy complex" as my mother calls it, or "Louise and Clarke syndrome"... whatever you'd like to call it... I'm addicted to travelling. I enjoy discovering new places, new perspectives, new cultures, new dialects, new people... I'm a wide eyed wanderer and I love that. I've been to GA, AL, MS, LA, SC, NC, TN, VA, NJ, NY, IL, D.C., and all over the state of Florida. I've also travelled abroad to most Carribean countries and Mexico. I was lucky to have been bit by the travel bug at the age of 8 with my father's spontaneous trips to no where leading to a new destination every time... and that particular year he took me to Dominican Republic for 3 weeks. I would never be the same after that trip. So here I am, 14 years later and several countries and states under my belt, and dying for more adventures abroad and on the west coast of the US. I'm also an English Literature student, although I've decided to take some time off to reflect on what I really want to do with my future. If it were up to me, I'd make my career travel related... I'm still working on that. Nevertheless, writing and reading are home to me. I can't get through a week without picking up a new book. I'm also a lover of all things ocean related. I cannot get past Spring without dipping my toes into the shore. The Florida Keys are my sanctuary, and I wouldn't doubt owning a house there someday... but for now I am content with spending my summers there.
