...can't...frickin'...believe...it. Maria, you are soooo funny. You've kept the secret very well - I thougth you were perfect! You might find a rush of friends telling you their secrets too -- keep track of them I'll make a great story.
You crack me up (no pun intended)! You crack me up...no pun intended! I'm confident that I can speak on behalf of all your listeners and proclaim "Your Beautiful Maria (inside and out)! I will however give you 5 stars in the brutally honest department. Cheers to you for speaking the truth for all us sisters out there!
What a great tour I enjoyed your tour to Norway with the American Thanksgiving celebration. We were first at Vigeland in 1968 and it doesn't look like much has changed since then. I guess he sculpted them for the ages. We have a beautiful snow here and everything is clean and white and the Christmas lights are up everywhere. Have a great Christmas. Craig
How are you? Hey do you remember me? It's Cece Altenhofen I still live in St. Paul but closer to kate now. I haven't seen you in forever. Emma do you have an e-mail address maybe we can chat then. My e-mail is cealten@yahoo.com.
Happy T.G. I'm sure you'll have a memorable weekend. I saw Tim and Mary at the high school play the other night and she told me about her trip to see you and later I got caught up on your blogs.....they're wonderful. Keep up the good work. Enjoy every minute. Craig
Twilight You are so funny! and deserve mother-of-the-year. I went to the movie and loved the experience of a whole theater full of young girls swooning at "everything Edward." Kath and I spent the next day comparing notes of which charactors matched our expectations. Funny thing, K thought Bella's truck would be blue and I thought it would be black but it was (correctly) red in the movie! make and model suited us both. I want a picture of Emma looking 15 :) take care, megan
Crimianl Mom, as well.... This entry just made me laugh, Maria. I can so relate! The things we do for our children! I continue to read your entries with enjoyment, and I think of you often. I hope Jeff's marathon training is going well, too!
a new twist to aclimating to the environment, hmmmm.... Do we need to watch your blog for dark clothing in your photo postings, body piercing or subtly hidden tattoos?
Ti sento Ti sento, Maria. "I hear/feel you!" I'm glad you got to experience Italy in your travels. We'll have lots of notes to compare when we come home to Saint Peter!
It's alive, I tell you................. Great pictures and a super story. Glad to here from you folks. I have been busy and haven't had time for much communication. Everytime I get into the der Ubber Corolla, I too, turn into JJ Bond, super spy. About them pine trees that lose their needles. What's up with that, doc?. Glad you and yours are getting the great experience that you are. Over here (USA) we are just "getting over" a far to long presedential election. A new president and new hope. It's a good thing that we are for the most part "clueless", I guess. Gas has finally gone under 2 bucks a gallon. Keep in touch we are all doing well. Greg
I can only imagine how exciting those roads would have been in an Astin Martin. I would also like to experience a place where business shuts down from 12 to 3.
Beautiful pics.
self-portrait The self portrait is "crazy" beautiful! You have so many talents.
When you post again, will you include a pix of the neighbor standing in his window?!?
Love ya,
Anne
What a Painting! I think you're a budding Picasso, Maria! Your time in Stockholm sounded wonderful. I dreamed last night that Jeff was to be offered a job starting at $700,000/year. Now, where did that come from? My garage is up, but unshingled and "undoored" at the moment. Hopefully, that will change after this w.e. Can you get the travelblog to change my email? I can't figure out how to do it. Love, UC
Reserved Hello again- Obviously you've got a large following back in the States that isn't too busy to read your updates. You've got us on the edge of our seat until your next posting! I'm happy to see you've got Roj now. That will make transit a little more flexible (but not cheaper, clearly.) Are you or the family planning any brief or extended get-aways to Oslo (so close), skiing in Sälen, visiting Ishotellet i Jukkasjärvi (sp?), or the Norwegian fjords? I'm glad you'll be over there through June because the fall and winter can be a little long. More time to plan great trips and visit long-lost relatives if you can!
Such fun reading! Maria,
So you know, most of the St Peter is living vicariously through you! I love reading all your posts, the fun and the not so fun.
Oh, Derners and I finally got around to hosting the Skyview neighborhood party last weekend. We had about 80 people (about half under 18). It is officially now an annual event, so save the second weekend in October 2009. Rest assured, your renters are very nice people!!

Wow! That is some Lego land. It sure dwarfs ours at the MOA. A five hour ferry ride! Really!
It looks like it probably was worth it though. Keep having fun.
too busy? Too busy to read of your life? It is my breath of fresh air! I'd sooner be too busy to call my hostesses, to get groceries, to answer a million calls! Reading of lille vik and stavgang and red Roj keeps my world full of new color and wonder. And by the way, in answer to your question, one grandfather of mine was born in Nassjo in Smaland and one in Angermanland. My grandmothers were born in Varmland and Smaland - don't remember the towns. Love the way red keeps popping up in your photos! sue
Our family has decided this is a good year for an adventure, as Jeff has earned sabbatical for the 2008-2009 academic year. We'll be living in Gothenburg Sweden (where Jeff will be doing mercury research) and plan to visit as many European countries as we can. On the list, Emma wants pizza in Italy, Signe wants to visit the Eiffel Tower and Jorgen is in search of a castle! As for Jeff and I, he wants to visit the land of his forefathers (Norway) and I'm in search of great local food wherever the road takes us.... full info
