We are really enjoying Dubai. Some wonderful modern architecture, fantastic Malls with every conceivable leisure activity, including snowboarding, ski ing, diving in huge aquaria. We have been on three tours one city, one beaches, one around the marina where 30 new sky scrapers abd 7 km of walkways shops and restaurants have been built in only 9 years. We went on two dhow cruises and heard a lot about living here...no income tax , no Vat but also no alcohol except in licensed restaurants where a pint of beer is 8 pounds...so water has been our mainstay.
We leave for Colombo today.
