well we spent a lovely few days relaxing by the nam song river, and had some early birthday celebrations for jess on the night of the 20th. we were at an outdoor bar and a storm started, we ignored it until it caused a powercut then we had to stand under the bamboo bit of the actual bar, it was amazing to watch the lighteniong there is like nothin weve ever seen, it lights up the whole sky. it was definitely an unforgettable way to start my twenties! we woke up (far to early) the next morning to get the bus to luang prabang, the bus ride was amzing, 7 hours through the most beautiuful scenery we have ever seen (although jess did make some comparisions with the dales, which han didnt seem to take seriously!) we arrived in luang prabang and had abit of a nightmare finding our guesthouse but managed it in the end, its lovely here, very quiet you see monks in the street everywhere and we went to a temple up above the town to watch the sunset today which was lovely. the computer wont let me upload the pictures again, i think the internet was bett in kuala lumpur than laos! we have both fallen for this country massively, its so beautiful and the people are the friendliest we have ever meant, it would be easy to stay here for much longer but our 30 hour bus to vietnam is booked, so we are staying in luang prabang tonight and tomorrow night and then starting that hellish journey! we are going to see elephants tomorrow and then to some waterfalls so it should be a good day
love to all x

oh and thankyou to the mccvays for their birthday texts!
