The room last night was fantastic, had a great nights sleep and the best shower I've had in ages 😊 Got 11am bus to Melaka which is just a 2hr journey. Once at Melaka Central we got on the number 17 bus to Town Square which cost us just 1RM each. Our hostel is quite basic, it's like an indoor/outdoor hostel. Our room is quite nice, wooden floors, clean sheets, mozzy net, fan.....but the 1 toilet and 1 shower are downstairs erm basically in the garden http://jalanjalanguesthouse.com/jjjs/index.htm Also, there is a gap above the wall round our room and the stairs next to our room open out into the garden so no protection from the evil cockroaches :-o Rob reckons I've just got used to being spoiled what with the last place being so nice.

We had a little wander around Melaka which is a mish mash really. There's China Town which is full of old, charming, little shops and sells a ridiculous amount of sweets and cookies (even for me!), then there's the Town Square where the museums are which looks quite modern and then there is Little India which is more like a bustling town. The trishaws here are very ornate, covered in flowers, http://www.tourmalaysia.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/melaka-trishaw.jpg every now and then you'll hear some bad pop music pumping from a dodgey speaker and you know ones coming your way! The people of Melaka seem to look their tarts (of the cake variety) with pineapple being a particular favourite. They also seem really friendly, a woman helped us find our way to our hostel and if you look at any food in the shops they give you free tasters 😊

We are now wondering what we're going to do that will fill the next 2 days....
