Here's the view from Cat's Got Nothing to Do Cafe. We were about 1000' up and were at eye level with Taipei 101 that is in the background on the right - through the fog.

I spent Christmas Day and New Years Eve at Ahe's cafe on the Taiwan Strait. He used to own the Nepal bar where Grace and I met. We made a shrimp and crab boil with Zatarain's seasoning for our Christmas dinner.

Thomas did the interior design of Ahe's cafe and he stopped in on Christmas Day. The cafe has the most leftist propaganda that I've ever seen. Ahe and Holli went to Cuba, but he bought these baseball shirts when a Cuban baseball team visited Taiwan, which is extremey capitalistic.

Che Guevara was one of the themes of the interior collage. He also featured the Dalai Lama and other pop art. Thomas was usually laughing and giving me shit about being a gringo.

This RV was converted into a mobile coffee shop. The door on the side lifts up and you have an instant espresso bar with all the italian syrups.

happy new year
dear grace and scott just lost the note i wrote baaa..happy new year. love the update - congradulations on being an aunt. what an amazing thing to bee with the little babybaby... so good to see the photos and all the adventures you are having. hope to see you in 2010 sometime. Not sure if i will sign or be offered a contract for the next school year. don't really want to return to the mess that the district is....not sure what my options are. take good care and know you are missed. i understand from this last update why grace missed taiwan more than i have ever before. it looks fabulous and full of family and purpose. xxoo seasi
