Will pose for bananas
Clearly, these guys aren't starving monkeys. On Sunday we went for a drive down to Chonburi. First we went to take a look at the office that Jim will be working in for the next year or so until the factory is built. Then, after a lunch of chicken/rice/pineapple that cost $3.00 for the entire family, we went for a drive down by the seashore.
Its interesting to see how the Thai's spend a day at the beach. There is a sea of umbrellas down to the water because nobody wants to get a tan. However, there's lots of great food, beer, and things to buy.
We went to "Monkey Mountain" where there are many, many well fed monkeys hanging out by the road waiting for the people to come and feed them bananas. We bought a basket of bananas for 20 bht (.50 cents US) and started feeding the monkeys. They weren't swarming us (which is what I was worried about) but they were certainly interested in the bananas and seemed to be fairly tame. One of them was kind enought to relieve Jeffrey of his basket of bananas....I guess he wasn't giving them to him quickly enough. The boys really enjoyed feeding them.....Carson
The boys feeding the monkeys
I was nervous about biting monkeys so I made Jim hold Carson on his shoulders. The monkeys, however, seemed quite tame. was nonstop giggles the entire time.
