Harbour view from our room
Hi everyone,
Sorry there was no blog yesterday but we had an exhausting day travelling. After about 18 hours we arrived at our hotel about 4 am but Hong Kong told us it was really 11 pm the previous day. That meant we got a reasonable nights sleep which allowed us to get up for a city tour at 6.30. Am.
We were taken around the harbour on a sampan (boat) ,then taken by coach to a jewelry factory, then on to a market ,then finally on a visit to the peak for a view of the harbour and a ride down to the bottom on a tram .PHEW ! We had our photo taken by the cities 2 nd best photographer so we were informed. We now have a lovely China plate with our photo on it which our children are going to inherit whether they want it or not.I anticipate a fight over who has it.In this case it may well be the loser ?After we were brought back,Pat and I decided to explore the local back streets .We visited a temple then the mid levels. This is an area where a hugely long escalator takes you from

office areas to living areas of the city. It goes down in the morning and up in the evening, travelling above the streets.
Keen to try the street food recommended in our guide book,we found somewhere to eat. Immediately we were ordered to move to a smaller table. Unfortunately we were forced to join a man who was midway through his meal.Shortly another man took his place and we watched as he washed his bowl and chopsticks in hot water from a jug on the table before eating. Rather concerned,we then scrupulously did the same to be on the safe side. ?Next we attempted to order our meal. No, we didn’t want rice with beef or pork or cockroach( I saw one scuttle across the ground the size of a baby cow). Just plain rice. The waitress finally got the message then didn’t bring my juice only Pats beer. How rude! Lol it wasn’t worth the effort so I shared the beer.
The WiFi here is soooooo slooooow so I will finish this in the morning. Luckily for you all this is nearly my last blog.Well that’s assuming someone is still brave enough to still be reading them.

No fight necessary - I’m a good sister, and James doesn’t see you as much as me so he can hang the plate on his wall :)

I'll take the plate
We could cut the plate in half? But then we would have to decide who gets mum and who gets dad... unless someone gets the top half and the other gets the bottom.... I call top half. Lol And for your information Mother, we are all still reading your blogs, they are great! Very interesting. Hong Kong looks a little less touristy, enjoy the rest of your time there. Will we get another blog or two before you come home? James :) x
