bamboo is an amazing product. i have seen it used for scaffolding, reaching 20 stories high (in hong kong). here in vietnam they use it to weave boats.

some boats are round and amazingly navigable by the experienced, while others look like river drift boats though they are used in the oceans-for drift fishing of course. i even saw the round boats being used in the sea of china.

i read this morning that these boats were able to be planted once the destination was reached, how about that!

there are far too many other uses for bamboo for me to name but it is used; as a water storage vessel. to eat and eat with (bamboo shoot chopsticks), as well as to cook with. to build houses and furniture. woven into hats. for shrimp fishing cranes, bridges and fences to name but a few.
