Hanoi!

The roads are 100% times more mental than Bangkok. Bikes everywhere! Same roads regarding crossing the roads apply. Much better than Bangkok, the people are less persistent and everything is less seedy, which is good. The hostel we're staying at is good, backpackerry so theres a few people to talk to. Also, all five of us in a dorm together is good fun.

We arrived and went straight for a nap in our dorm, early morning had taken it out of us. On the taxi from the airport into Hanoi you get a good grasp of their culture - pigs on the back of bikes, paddy fields, all sorts. CONSTANT horn beeping!

Tried finding a crashed B52 bomber which had been left from the Vietnam War in a river this evening, no luck with that. But over an hour in a taxi again, not particularly fun. Went Hoa La Prison Museum today though, was interesting. Cheap entry (student card saved me 5000 dong 😉 = about 15p), but the displays werent amazing, basic. Pictures of John Mccain at the prison when he was captured after crashing during the war, also his Pilot Suit.

Leaving Hanoi tomorrow morning and going to Ha Long Bay for a night, get back Monday afternoon. Then at 23.00 we're on a sleeper train to Hue. Gona be interesting! So next time I update this it'll be from Hue, or if not there Hoi An. Hope everyone enjoys reading me ramble on!
