We had to stop in the town for a night and next day we got a bus to Sìn Hồ. During this short time, we went to a village of the Thai ethnic minority people.

Most children in this classroom are the La Hủ. They are singing a Vietnamese song. They learn Vietnamese from the kindergarten and continue to learn Vietnamese when they go to school. We met a teacher here and followed to her house and saw how people lived.

There were many Dzao ethnic women wearing traditional dresses standing near the door or at the kitchen. Inside the room where we (as special guests) had party, there were only Dzao ethnic men.

We were stuck here for 3 hours (from 3:30pm to 6:30pm) until an excavator came to clear the landslide. Our bus driver is directing two Thai ethnic boys in our bus to make the road better, but it didn't work as later the bus was stuck on the soil.

So interesting!
Really enjoyed reading about your visit to the ethnic tribes. How lucky to be invited to the wedding! We visited some villages out of Sapa but those were the Hmong people.

It is a big adventure around North West Vietnam
Thanks Hong Ha for telling us your adventure trip to Lai Chau, Vietnam. It is real Vietnam discovery. You are quite brave and creative during your trip. That kind of your travel not only bring you closer to uniquely beautiful North west but also help us get deeper understanding of ethnic people there. Best wishes, Tony Duc Vietindo Travel
