A boat is under repair - Cát Bà island

Our motorbike on Cát Bà island

We rented this motorbike (US$10/day) and wandered around the island.

Just arrived at Cô Tô island

This is the wooden boat we traveled by and it took 3 hours to Cô Tô from Vân Đồn. I got sea sickness when the boat got out of the bay and came into the sea area with high waves.

The long white boat used to be a 5-star hotel but now it's just put here for display.

It has been 10 years since my last visit to this island.

There are two boat rides on this route per day and the boat stops at two islands (Thắng Lợi and Ngọc Vừng). I only visited one of them.

The fermentation at the fish sauce factory doesn't look very appealing but the final product (fish sauce) makes cooking delicious. Thank you for this great write up & the beautiful sunset photos at Ha Long Bay (my favourite & brings back a lot of memory to me).
