Sorry we've not updated for a while, been busy seeing sights.

So we arrived into Vietnam after a 4 hour bus ride, and a sly dollar slipped into our passport as a bribe.
it didn't take long to get to our first destination in Vietnam, the small town of Chau Doc lies in the Mekong delta and there isn't really much to do here, so we opted for a motorbike tour up to the viewing point above the city to watch the sunset.
It was great fun flying in and out of the traffic. Unfortunately there was no sunset, it just kind of disappeared into the mist 😞 the path up to the top was really steep and the speed that they went up was at first a little bit frightening, especially as the corners were really tight and vans and cars were coming the opposite way, but we made it up and down in one piece.
We ate at the hotel that night and got an early night as we were off to Ho Chi Minh City the next day - and there wern't really any bars to visit.

We left at 8am for HCMC and arrived at 3, On the way we stopped at the nicest service station either of us had ever been to, for lunch we had the set menu and it was tonnes of food, Whole elephant ear fish, shrimp and pork spring rolls, beef and green pepper, beef salad, pork noodle soup, rice and fruit salad to finish.
Once we were at our hotel we decided to go for cocktails at the very posh Sheraton hotel, (it was happy hour after all). The aim was to watch the sunset but once again it disappeared into the mist.
As it was the end of the Cambodia part of the trip we had some people leave and some new people join so we all ate together, once again it was an early night as we were up at 7:30.

We were up early because we were going to the Cu Chi tunnels, it was a public tour so we had to pick other people up on the way. It was a right joke, we spent 2 hours going round picking people up. The guide joked that it was a free
city tour, not funny. To make it worse we stopped at a handicapped handicrafts factory on the way, everything was stupidly expensive and it just made us even more annoyed.
Once at the tunnels we discovered that we had a massive group and we found it difficult to see or hear what the guide was talking about, the area was really interesting and we even got to go into a tunnel, though it had been made bigger for tourists it was still claustrophobic. Kim panicked once we were in there and we made a hasty escape just 20 meters into our 100 meter journey.
We got back to the hotel in one go this time, no factories. To cool off we jumped into the hotels pool and then sat about waiting to leave for our overnight train to Nha Trang.
