This is starting as another day when time stands still it s only 08:00.
I clear the old tomato plants from the back garden and clip the grass that is starting to appear in the front garden. It is nice to be able to refer to the front as a 'garden' now but with flower borders and grass I think that is permissable. There is not a day goes by at the moment when someone doesn't stop in to get some marigold seed from the flowers outside the wall and Jai herself has a huge basket full of them. Another month and the village should have marigolds everywhere ... assuming of course that people can actually be bothered to plant them and water them etc
Today is pension day in the village - not for us unfortunately. After lunch I take Jai to collect her mum's money and there are grannies everywhere desperate for their bit of cash. I give Jai's sister Begat a lift home, get some petrol and buy a phone card and when I get back to the office Jai is still waiting. Her mum seems to be one of the last to get called out each month.
We both go to the farm today and start to carry some piles of rice grass ready to start off the fires shortly. Jai's heart isn't in it today though and we only do about half a shift before biking back to the house.
