Dodgy tummy and another death

After surviving the supposedly dodgy food in Laos I awake at 3am with a dodgy tum and a quick visit to the loo. This continues for a while throughout the rest of the night and I have to skip breakfast. I cant believe the difference in the weather here and Laos just 100km away. It is cold again this morning and the grass is wet from overnight dew. We are shocked to hear that a friend's mother has just died. She was about the same age as Jai and had just gone to Chiangmai to work about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday morning she didnt wake up and by all accounts had not even been sick. I take down my old seedling house and measure up for a building to hold our rice where it had stood. Jai does the holiday laundry then is straight back into her mat making.
