Cassava or not cassava ?

Jai turns up with half a dozen cassava roots this morning that she wants to plant in the garden. To the best of my knowledge cassava is poisonous unless treated correctly when preparing to eat it. Jai tells me that this is a different variety to the one that everyone here grows on the farms and is OK. I am not buying into that and will make sure that it is her mother that eats it first !! I am back and forwards to the farm a few times for some chicken soil to plant them in and hide them in the corner. Maybe they will die or not be ready for consumption until we have left ...
