Cooking Classes with MB
She was so full of life and quite funny with some of the English had a bit of a problem. "Okay take a walk". Most of us had no idea until she showed us the Wok! Geo: 18.7832, 99
Off to school this morning 8.30am start we were picked up along with 9 others.
OMG what an excellent experience, 11 of us all together and we all hit it off, young people most are volunteers that came from Canada, Australia, America, never new each other until they met working at building, farming getting 6 week visa's most starting out on their own.
A couple of teachers from America on two weeks leave and we all had an amazing time, plus a young couple from Sydney. Went to the market first for a few ingredients with MB explaining what the difference was in sauces, rice etc. it was huge and busy with people buying fresh meat, fish vegetables.
We then went to the farm and walked with MB showing us the herbs and spices she was going to use with us today. Mango trees with Mango's not ripe but that could be used in dishes, a strange type of plum that tasted like Mango.
We each cooked 5 meals and had our own separate work space, trays would have the ingredients on them and MB showed us how to prepare each meal. Between Mick and I
One of our meals
We seemed to do a lot of eating we cooked 10 different dishes. A truly amazing experience and we all found it difficult to eat everything but I did finish off the sticky mango rice.
Best part was after we cooked we took our dishes out to the lines of sinks left them there and when we finished the meal we would come back to a clean work space with some trays and other ingredients for the next dish.
We were all given a cook book with the dishes we had made and a couple of others really well set out for us foreigners, with the steps needed to be taken for each dish. 10/10 for today.
