We had a large and long breakfast this morning - we were given the '5 minutes' 'last drinks' call. We had been there for two hours!!!!
We met in the lobby and headed out the gate just as David and Sassi pulled into the hotel. We all pilled on board for the ride to Hua Hin - I got the boot seat. We found the dentist and headed in. They had a video playing in the waiting room explaining endo and crowns. Some I understood and others I didn't. Very interesting. We didn't have to wait long before Peter was called in. I went along to see how a Thai dentist works. The room was tiny - no room to move around in. I had to move the trolley to get to the one tiny stool in the corner. There seemed to be four chairs operating divided by a curtain one way and a wall the other way. The walled section shared two sinks and there was a nurse for the dentist and a floating nurse per side. I loved the tissue box attached to the chair so patients could help themselves as needed. No safety glasses for staff or
patients. They had a great holder for the filtek composite and the dentist showed how to make up a free one from the Colgate holders of the brushes we sell. They had little dishes for the burs that I have always thought would be a good idea. Getting back to Peter - she wanted him to have an injection. We both don't think he needed it but she wanted to. She had a bit of trouble screwing the abutment in but got there in the end. She charged 300 baht for sterilisation - $15.00!!!
We went and had a coffee next door then went to the supermarket as David and Sassi needed to go. Peter bought some tea for Heather. They didn't have the coffee that mum wanted. I turned around and found the boys having a plate of food each. I went up and was also given plate with hot nan bread, steamed rice, and bean curry and a ... Curry. It was really nice - spicy with a reasonable kick but not so hot that the lips tingled and you have to pant like a dog.....
Mum came over and also had a plate then we wandered around. It was
a bit like cosco - you need a membership to shop there and it is geared towards restaurants and hotels as well as individuals. They do not give you plastic bags for your shopping and you must pay cash (ATM's at the front door in case you forgot). The seafood could be bought alive or not so alive with heaps of variety to choose from. It was a fascinating experience. David took us back to the hotel. Mum and I had a rest on the bed listening to the footy and mum had a short sleep - waking up thinking it was 7.20am!! The boys were already at the pool. I listened to the last quarter of the Pies match sending Mel the scores although she wasn't online - at least she would know as soon as she signed in. Pies won. I celebrated by having a swim then lay on the sunbed drying. No sun out so it was safe
We went to D.'s for dinner. Very nice. Magnum on the way back home. We then sat around the pool for twenty minutes talking before mum and I headed to our room.
