Went down for breakfast this morning and we could choose from brown rice, spaghetti beef bologais (their spelling), pork fried noodle, chicken fried with ginger, steam rice, chicken with bokchoy, congee pork, vegetable salad, eggs, ham, frankfurt like sausages, cereal, bread, croissants, and a Chinese croissant. As I said yesterday, nothing for us.
Nana made up a salad for herself for breaky. She had cherry tomatoes, shredded cabbage, cucumber cubes, lettuce, peanuts, watermelon, onion rings ,melon, chicken sausage, sultanas, tomato sauce, topped with thousand island dressing
We then bought all our bags down to the lobby and waited for the taxi man we organised the day before. At 4 minutes after he was meant to arrive Nana and Pa walked over to reception to see if they could organise someone, but on the way back they found the taxi, but as he was not used by the hotel he couldn't come to the door. So we all walked out over to his pick-up truck - so much for the taxi - and just managed to fit us and our luggage in without falling out. He took us to the Mini Bus Station which was only 300m behind the bus station
and we would've never found it. It had two mini buses and no building, just a couple of sheds and about 5 hammocks. It was 220B per person and we had to pay extra for our baggage as we had so much.
The trip was long, very long and very boring. It was the same as a mini bus in Australia - new and white. We kept having to stop and get more people and at one point there was 14 passengers plus a baby and all our bags (4 suitcases, 2 backpacks and some other bags) as well as a guitar and back-pack of someone else's. The driver kept stopping to buy some mangoes but didn't find any he liked. We arrived on the road that the hotels road comes off which was pretty good and paid 230B for a pick-up truck to take us to the hotel which is more than the mini-bus cost! It's ridiculous but we weren't walking. It dropped us off at the door of the hotel.
They're renovating the reception area and the temporary desk is very small so we had to fill things out on the coffee tables. We got connecting rooms in
the new wing so we don't have a pool view room, well, we only have the little pool in view. The rooms are very nice but, large and comfortable.
When we'd settled down we walked up to the bakery and got a smoothie for Pa and one for mum, 2 danishes, 2 donuts and a croissant. We bought them back to the hotel and had lunch in Nana and Pa's rooms then went for a swim. Mum and I went to the little pool first and Nana and Pa went to the big one. We walked up and back the pool, its 100m long but very shallow and at one end there's a mushroom, 4 elephants and 4 fish that have water coming out of them and 3 slides. We remembered from last time how to turn them on so we did so and had a bit of fun.
Later we went to the bigger pool and swam in there for an hour before coming back and having a cold shower.
For dinner we went to Dee Lek. We shared fried noodles with egg and veggies which was nice but spicy, sweet and sour pork which was average and
the chicken with cashew nuts was delicious but there were way too many nuts. After dinner we went to the Family Mart for some beer and water then to a travel agent to book a taxi for tomorrow night.
