We arrived in Bangkok and went straight to Khao San Road. Checked into D&D Hotel, 550 baht (53 baht to pound roughly) for single room with breakfast and air con. Roof top pool was really nice. Weather has been to hot. Food stalls on street were amazing, Chicken and Egg Pad Thai with Spring Roll 55 baht (just over pound). Had a few beers watching Man U vs Liverpool, bar was packed and served 3lt towers of Chang! (local beer). Decided to go in roof top pool once back at hotel as open until 2am. The next day we just explored Khao San Road and made use of the pool. Went to Pat Pong market on the evening and decided to eat there. We were looking for somewhere to eat and went down side street when these Thai lads asked us into a bar in camp voice. Then outside each bar was couples, european men with young Thai's. The others didn't notice and walked into bar where they had young Thai lads in football kits serving and pictures of young lads on the bar (a different kind on menu perhaps?). We were in Pat Pong 2 (gay quarter). I had Thai
Green Curry, which was nice. After meal we decided to go to Ping Pong (sex) show before looking round market. It was shite so we tried to leave, they gave us a bill for approx 70 pound. After a heated exchange we gave them a few pound each for drinks and literally forced our way out. The girls were a bit shaken. We didn't bother looking round market after just got a taxi. Me, Dan and Sam had drinks in Gulivers on Khao San Road (which Sean recommended, good choice) I ended up on stage dancing! The Thai women are all over you, some prostitutes but some not. Managed to find a group of Thai girls that were not after my wallet and had some batter. On the Tuesday we went to see some temples and on evening ate on road paralell to Khao San Road, I had whole Red Snapper with King Prawns and Jacket. After we went to bar with 1 man band but he was really good then onto trusty Gulivers. It was a hassle getting anywhere in Bangkok as tuk tuk take you to a Suit Shop. The next day we roamed Khao San again and
had a foot massage, which entails putting your legs from knee down into pool full of fish (doctor fish) that eat all the dead skin. Its a weird sensation feels like pins and needles crossed with being tickled. We met a guy called George Adebongo from Zimbabwe (he reminded me of George from Phone Jacker). The following day we got overnight train then coach then ferry to Ko Pha-Ngan (24 hours of travelling) where full moon party was. The train was good craic, it had bar with music, we got stuck with a crazy drunk Thai man but got speaking to some girls from america (acupuncturist), they swear by it. We also met a guy from Sweden called Fredrik who was cool and a illusionist. Our first introduction to Sangsom (whiskey). In total we travelled for around 22 hours, with train, coach then ferry. We checked into our accommodation, Blue Lotus Resort, which was beach huts. A little out the way but we did not want to be amongst the madness. On the first night in Ko Pha-Ngan we went to a pool party at the Coral Bungalows. We ended up on buckets on Sangsom (lethal). The pool party was
busy. Me, Dan and Sam were a bit peckish after so went down to Haad Rin Beach. We ended up not eating and having another bucket and I did some limbo dancing. The extra bucket was the tightner for Dan, he ended up falling head first into 3 parked motorbikes. I carried him home. The following day Barry arrived so we hired motor bikes and went round Ko Pha-Ngan. Barry tried to drive motorbike but shot across road and nearly hit a car. We was told about a waterfall but it was as dry as a bone. Some beautifull beaches on island and the island was bigger than I expected. On our return to the accommodation we met two girls from Nottingham who were really nice and easy to get on with. On the evening we went to Haad Rin Beach to scope it out for the Full Moon but things got messy, ended up on mushroom shakes and had to keep Barry on beach until 8 o'clock until he came back to normal but it was good craic. As you can imagine I could not sleep. Had a couple of hours sleep in day then got ready for Full
Moon Party. We all painted each other. I will upload photos at some point. Full Moon was best night i've ever had, music and atmosphere were amazing. Riverside (Sidney Samson) top choon! In morning i was still out and on shakes again. Me, Dan and Sam waited for sun to come up but a bit cloudy so we left about 7:30 as everyone else on beach was a mess! Chilled out the following day. There was a storm on the evening so another disturbed sleep. We were advised the storm could last a few days and if sea gets any rougher we would be stranded on island as boats would be cancelled. We planned to go Ko Samui and Ko Toa but due to weather we thought best to go to West Coast. We got boat and coach to Krabi (West Coast) to get some better weather. Spent night in Krabi town and ate at night market which cost 80p.
