But its not its bangkok
Getting towards the end of this section of this tripo and as me and emily thought we are getting tired. Well tired isnt the right word, i think we are getting exhausted. Its just getting harder and harder to do anything after two months non stop. Okay rant over.
Bangkok and the backpacker places in it are interesting and really remind me of Camden in London, but a whole city of camden. I thought i would like that but after a while it gets on your proverbial t*ts (pardon my french, or language whatever). I realised i like camden because its unique and SMALL, too much of a good thing can be bad i guess. Me and em said goodbye to the group we had been with for around 2 months which was wierd as we all clicked so well and had got used to each other.
In order to chill out and make the most of the shopping we basically spent two days relaxing and milling around. Finally on our last day we went out to meet us cousin who took us to a few different areas of bangkok we hadnt seen. First (and i know i should have been

tryign the local food but it was so tempting) we went for a roast, crackling, stuffing, yorkie puddings EVERYTHING. So after missing back home and stuffing our faces with roast we went for a wander and found ourselves on the go go bar street.
Having no idea what a go go bar was and being intrigued with all the flashing lights and women (that should have given me a hint) trying to get you into each place in we all went. A go go bar is a strange place but ill give you an overview.
There is loud western music playing, and a podium in the middle of the floor with 20 girs dancing on it, surrounding the dancefloor are 3-4 rows of plasticy seats that make the whole thing like a collusium from ancient rome. Its a good analogy of the place as the seedyness, dirty and depravity fit both arenas like a glove. The 20 or so girls dancing will be wearing next to nothing, making eyes at the fat westerners, but dancing like they love it and wouldnt want to be anywhere else. If you want you can buy the girl a drink (overpriced) and she MIGHT

come and talk to you. Then every 20 minutes the girls cycle around a whole new group come out wearing different uniforms. They also have the football on.
If this didnt sound awkward enough I HAD MY SISTER WITH ME AND ANOTHER GIRL FROM THE TOUR. It was interesting in a sinister cant look away from a an accident kind of way but still was an experience. Also rather fun to watch the hopefullness in the huge american mans eyes thinking an 18 year old bikini girl was really interested in anything else but money- ah well welcome to Bangkok.
One last thing, found out as well that in bangkok the city where anything goes, PROSTITUTION IS ILLEGAL- well at least they are trying, it just seems that nobody takes notice or cares.
