Phuket

Sun, sea and diving beckoned so we left for Phuket on 11th Feb. for a few days before travelling onwards to Malaysa, and Singapore. Phuket is a lot quieter, we arrived late at our accommodation which was at a place called Karon Beach. Next day we booked Dave’s open water qualification dives, which were completed over the next two days. During the last two dives spotted two turtles - fantastic - and dolphins on the way back. However, the visibility was very disappointing in comparison with the Red Sea and also the coral was badly damaged or practically non-existent. The damage is almost certainly due to human intervention rather than natural causes. So, now onwards to Krabi by taxi and ferry.
