Wat Chalong Festival
The temple at Wat Chalong Bea and I joined our new friends from England, Ray and Rita for a visit to the night festival at Wat Chalong. We got there very early (around 7PM) and only stayed for a couple of hours. As we were leaving the real crowds of people began to arrive. It got very crowded. We were lucky to get out when we did as the traffic was bumper to bumper making it very difficult to get out on the main road. As polite as the Thai's are, they take on an entirely different character behind the wheel of a car or handlebars of a motorbike. They just don't give way!
Food seemed to be the focus of the festival. It was everywhere. I took just a few pictures which I've included here. The satay looked wonderful, all very neatly laid out. In fact, most of the food displays were done quite artistically. One young Thail girl offered me her fried beetles, worms or whatever they were, when she noticed me taking pictures. I didn't quite have the courage to go for it.
The festival was an experience but 2 hours was enough!

Bugs & Worms
Jack woulda told that girl with the fried bugs to 'super-size me'. They look scrumptious especially with a little hot sauce.
