Ko Nangyuan
3 small islands off the coast of Ko Tao connected by a fish turdbar The days after the full moon party could best be categorized as a state somewhere in between sleep deprived hysteria and being hungover. Brett (Little Spoon), RT, Ryan and I discussed where we were to go next and ended up parting ways. It was a fun two weeks but as all things travelling people need to go their own way. They wanted to go head over to the Mergui Peninisula off the coast of Burma and we wanted to check out Ko Tao. For those of you following the news, there is some serious stuff going on in Burma like a serious political mess. We had to have our farewell party even though we were all hanging on by a thread...Little Spoon ordered the nastiest tequila we had ever tasted and Russ ordered the delicous sambucca shot to celebrate our last night together. By the way if any of you see this man:
Buy him a Sambucca shot, it's his new favorite drink. Trust us...
We took a ferry over to Ko Tao through the monsoons that work on a regular shift around these parts... We got off the pier in Ko Tao that looked
Synchronized Swimming
Practicing for the olympics like nothing more than gathered driftwood strewn together with a random assembly of nails. We had to walk across this plank of wood with no hand rails that was about 8 feet long and about 6 or 7 feet over the ocean. We were both carrying 50lb. back packs and our day bags...All we pictured was us falling off and dropping to the bottom, our legs kicking like a drowning potato bug. We headed down to the less populated south bay of Chalok Ban Kao and set up shop. Ryan was tossing around the idea of getting his dive certification but didn't end up doing it because we still have more travelling to do. We did nothing of real importance here which was exactly what we wanted. We were delirous from the party a few nights before so our days consisted of nothing more than kayaking, swimming and sleeping. With our malaria meds still in our bodies and our apparent lack of sleep we had some crazy dreams...more like hallucinations since we weren't fully asleep.
After a couple days we felt we could be a bit more social so we headed up to Sairee Beach. We booked a snorkel
White Sand Beaches
After what Jacque Cousteau told us we were walking on, we had the sudden urge to wash our feet tour around the island to check out some of the marine life. Our boat instructor was from the UK and reminded us of the british tour manager from Wayne's World who talked about how Ozzy needed all the green M & M's taken out or he wouldn't go on stage that night...haha sorry if you don't remember the movie but it was hilarious. The water was crystal clear and we saw everything from squid to black tip reef sharks, it was awesome. After this and the fact that we weren't going to get dive certified we decided to leave Ko Tao and head to the north of Thailand or Laos, where we would figure out our next move. We got back into bangkok 10 hours later and just passed out....and who do we see when we wake up the next morning? Brett and RT....it was pretty crazy, but not that crazy...you tend to run into people multiple times. Ryan and I had bought a train ticket to Chang Mai that day and were scheduled to leave that night, but we decided to have one beer...which as we already knew turned into one more which turned into a few more and
Beachfront Property
Some bungalows on Ko Tao then before we knew it the train was long gone and so were we... RT kept saying something about fanny packs and Brett about how his pet frog kissed him on the cheek...i don't know...Moral of the story is we missed our train. We got a bus the next day though and said our goodbyes. We brokered a deal with our surf boards because they changed their travel plans. They decided to hit the Andaman islands off the south coast of India and catch some of the untamed surf there. We still don't know where they are getting surf wax from...Brett says, "I'll melt a candle if I have to man."
Hopefully we will all meet for a surf session in Morocco in a month or so but who knows as plans change. We are here now in Chang Mai and have just been buying warm clothes for Europe and getting some last minute souvenirs. We got one more travelblog and than it's goodbye Southeast Asia...damn it's been 2 months already...see ya guys in a week or so.

Sambucca Sorrows
I'm still recovering from our rendezvous the other day here in Bangkok. No joke about running in to the same people over and over....Ryan and I ran in to Niki and Joe yesterday on Khao San Road. You can both piss off for even mentioning Sambucca shots...and I hope that the two of you are having fun wherever you are. Brett
