Hello...hope everyone is ok...bet our parents have written on the calender how many days it is until we are back...counting down!

So we jumped on an overnight train from Bangkok all the way down to Southern Gulf of Thailand and to Koh Tao! this quiet little island (only 21km squared)...total chill out week. we spent 6 nights in our own beach hut and spent the whole time lying on the beaches, enjoying watching the sunsets and lots of nice meals!

Koh Tao is not very built up at all and only 10 years ago it was generally unknown amongst travellers... we were 2 minutes walk from the beach which was so quiet most of the time, with only the sound of the water taxis coming in and out. Some days we walked to the gloriously beautiful main beach on the island called Sairee beach...just a long strip of white sand with loads of lush bars traled along the edge and the warmest sea water we have every been in...sorry to make you all jealous but the average sea temperature when we were there was 31degrees!!! just perfect!

We also took a day trip to a tiny group if 3 small islands just joined by a sand trail...it was amazingly beautiful and we had a really good day snorkelling in the cove...so full of fish (just like Hanuma Bay in Hawaii) and i went in! and we saw a 1.5m long barracuda! although the sholes of black and white fish we getting slightly too close for comfort at times! we even felt energetic enough to climb up to a lookout over the islands..lush!

Then to finish off August we jumped on a boat to Koh Samui which is the most touristy island in Thailand. we have an amazing huge beach bungalow here for 14pounds a night (which is quite expensive for thailand but worth it cos its huge!).. the weather here has been amazing and we have spent most of our time soaking up the rays ready to come back to not so sunny England! Koh Samui is the perfect place for a package holiday and is full of british people...a lot of older men with young thai girls on their arms..hum hum... but its still ice and the beach is fab!...the shopping is also brill to pick up a couple of bargins ..(bank balance permitting) and there aren't many places in the world you can find men with monkeys standing outside of Starbucks!!

Next stop is to the West Coast straight through Krabi and to the Island of Koh Lanta and Phi Phi (where Bridget Jones 2 and The Beach were filmed) not a bad way to start September..eh? not long til we are home now..almost into our last week!...can't wait to be able to brush my teeth with tap water again!

Chow for now xxx
