Am currently on Koh Tao (which is beautiful). Had a bit of an emotional start as had to get up early to fly here, it took 2 1/2hrs on the plane then another 2 hrs on the ferry and it was soooo hot!!
Got a taxi from the ferry to a few rooms from the lonely planet and the one we hired at first was a wooden bungalow at the 'Pranees' resort for 400 baht a night which was pretty simple. But as Steve sat down to relieve his bowels imagine his dismay as he spied loadsa ants in the toilet and then a SNAKE! So we rapidly checked out of that one to one in the 'Seashell' resort for 800 baht a night.
Was still a wooden hut but was a little bigger and had a proper tiled bathroom with no gaps in the walls. By this time I was boiling and knackered so was slightly un-impressed when I came to have a shower and the only water was COLD! Got over this fact as was quite hot anyways but then that night climbed into bed under the ole' mosquito net only to find it covered in ants!!
Hat Sa Ri
This is just one of the islands many beaches and our nearest one at the mo So in the morning we again checked out and am now staying in a very nice brick bungalow! With hot water and NO ants!!!!
Have been snorkelling which was cool saw some parrot fish, some tiny but bright blue murder clams and MILLIONS of sea cucumbers!
Also got a ped out today and have been whizzing about the island checking out the other beaches have found one called 'Too Tao Lagoon' which we are hopefully gonna go and do some snorkelling at.
