Hello

Well it only took us a few days to get the hang of Thailand, but I think we are finally able to "run the numbers" and our division by 30 is working out a lot better for us. 1 dollar is 30 baht, which means full Thai feats are 2 dollars, are accomodation was 6 dollars but - we are high rollers so we bumped it up to 10 dollars to get the good old air conditioning.

Some highlights of the trip

Ko Samui- Thailand
Checked out the Big Budda. It sits and protects the island. I have included a butt shot of the Budda for your viewing pleasure. Haha

Makekoh Island- Thailand
This is where the beach was filmed. Stunning salt water lake in the middle of an island in the Gulf of Thailand. We climbed 150 m up the hill to get this place, which was an accomplishment in itself as it was straight up a ladder in 40 degree heat! All worth it once we got there for the view! Went ocean kayaking through caves that we litterally had to lie down in our kayaks for so that we could get through them

This is where the film The Beach was filmed. The water was amazing!
! It was awesome. Then.... the water baby that I am tried to snorkel. yes the key word is try.... Ended up stepping on a sea urchin which bit me 6 times and made me think I was going to die. I think I am officially through with trying to snorkel! haha

Thai Boxing-

went to see a match last nigth. It was pretty crazy. There were these little kids fighting and they totally kicked the crap out of each other. For those who watch the Conteder back home, this is no comparison! Anyway, after a few knock outs and our first experience with a real Thai washroom, we left the stadium!

Beaches/Weather
Can we say hot?!?!!? SPF 15 doesnt cut it down here... burned myself the first day and still trying to recover. Weather has been great for us, just heard about the earthquake. We are on the other side of the island and I never heard about it till I logged on today.

Shopping-
Thought this was worth mentioning because it is out of control over here. Jaime and I got some tailored clothes made and now we are lugging them around. Be aware,

View from our Beach hut we rented in Ko Samui. 10 dollars a night! OH YAH!
we will be coming home with a few extra bags.

We took the ferry over the Koh Pang Nhan this morning, and are trying to find a place at the momment. So I will let you know about this island in my next entry,....

Cheers
Natasha ;-)
