Beachfront Hotel
Quite nice this place just down the road in Lamai Well it's Thursday evening here now and a little tired after deciding to stay up until 5am this morning to watch that debacle of a football match from Wembley. I should have known really, it's been an absolute nightmare being an English sports fan for many years now and i might once have said Scunthorpe United have more chance of playing in the Premiership than England have of winning anything......looks a lot more likely now ! I will not go on about that, just save to say, what was Steve Mclaren's actual role when he was assisant to Sven and why was he not implicated in any way in previous (and some would argue), predictable failures ? Anyway i can't be bothered with that load of shite anymore......
I have had the last couple of nights in as i am almost starting to get into a sort of "expat lifestyle" and i am not particularly comfortable with that. I have met some very nice people here and i do try and eat some Thai food, but trying Pappaya salad 2 days on the trot was nearly my undoing, and half my day yesterday spent at the "loo" bears testament to that

Quite nice this place just down the road in Lamai ! There is something that i don't quite understand here...the Thai woman said would you like it spicy ("pet mai" ?) so i said "nit noy" meaning a little bit, well i am not kidding i sat here and my eyes were literally watering, if that's a little bit spicy then the Lord only knows what spicy means ! Ironically though, if you rent a house and they advertise the place as having "hot water", it usually means it may be warm or quite warm at best when you shower, and do not be so presumptious as to expect hot water from a tap....it doesn't exist here.......so you work that one out !!! Still as i think i have remarked before you have to get accustomed to the "Thai way of doing business", which can be quite unlike anything you have ever experienced before.
When i telephoned the Thai lady to enquire about renting this place, she said it was available for 3 months, when she arrived here to meet me, i suddenly had to be out by the 18th of December until the 13th of January...then 2 days ago she now says it's the 15th of December. I am
At the beach again !
Fishing boats this time !!! almost of the opinion now that i don't want to get too comfortable just in case i get booted out with about 10 minutes notice.....i daren't go to the toilet here now just in case i am asked to leave and i don't have time to wipe my backside !
Well i have finally decided to finish this entry off almost 2 weeks later ! I have just carried on as usual and met one or two more people and been out quite a few times. As i have said before i am almost starting to get involved in that 'expat' kind of lifestyle and i am not really sure that is what i am happy with to be honest. It basically involves going out every night (although i do stay in sometimes), drinking in the same bars and not meeting anyone from anywhere else, and i have met some nice people previously and don't seem to be getting the opportunity at the moment. So i have started to eat in a few different restaurants and some nice little Thai places, one of which has a karaoke and that was an experience ! To be honest i stayed there longer than i had planned because there was a beautiful woman there and she was sat opposite to me a few tables away. Well this wonderful vision i had of her was completely 'shot to pieces' when she decided to get up to sing, this was reminiscent of Greeny's murderous attempt on a Roy Orbison classic in Tamworth many moons ago. She came and sat back down and of course Thailand's answer to 'Big Daddy' walks in and sits right in my eyeline......absolutely superb !! I had to laugh to be honest though.....I went out the other night with a lad from Sydney and another one from Cork, well i couldn't understand the lad from Cork and i spent the last hour in this club sat with the Aussie who was fast asleep and some ropey Thai bird who was all over him and i was genuinely concerned about his wallet (it was his round next !!). You do have to be careful though because some will rip you off, rob you etc etc and unfortunately the fact that the guy was asleep and completely arseholed would have made no difference at all !
Anyway....in the last 2 weeks i have seen injuries to 2 people from motorbike accidents and actually witnessed 2 others although one was a 'head on' and it was actually quite funny as they both bounced off their bikes and were not hurt in any way other than their pride.
I will end now....the most recent pictures were taken this morning when i went for a walk along the beach about 6.30 am, lovely this morning though a little overcast and a bloody stray little dog trying to playfully bite my legs, so i had to "run away bravely" towards the sea ! Yes seen bigger legs hanging out a stork's nest etc etc before one of the local "jokers" (and i deliberatley used inverted commas there by the way), sends in a completely predictable witticism !!
Anyway will write some more sooner and let you know what i plan for xmas.....it's either Alan's in Australia (i haven't been invited by the way), Sri Lanka to watch England, Cambodia or home !! Not sure but i am certain i will make up my mind last minute as usual.
Regards and talk soon.....

Just had a full read thru your blogs mate for the first time. Your profile says you can talk the hind legs of a donkey and it looks like you can blog the hind legs off a donkey as well. I heard that the Thai tousist board had offered you a job ?
