Not a big enough Umbrella And it's not Dundee,
Koh Samui, the sunshine paradise will always be remembered for a constant deluge. Just when you think it has to let up, it gets even heavier. Then there is the thunder and lightning. In the early hours of the morning whilst we were under our mosquito net at the top of a hill in our little jungle hut, "the show commenced". Flashes of lightning followed by almighty thunder claps which shook the ground, it had us diving for cover, we thought our time was up with the next strike reserved for us.
Crazy thing was, in between the thunder roars, we could hear loud base music from the Half Moon Party on nearby Koh Pha Nang.
Never had the chance to explore the island or the inclination to visit Koh Pha Ngan or Koh Tao cos of the constant rain, so we have decided to head north and visit Hua Hin, before returning to Bangkok. Lets hope we find sunshine.
We booked a catamaran to the mainland at Chumpon then an air con coach to Bangkok. We purchased a buffer ticket which allows us to stop off at Hua Hin for a

We seem to be the only ones without them few days then carry on to the capital.
Back in Chaweng we were picked up at our guest house around 7am, it still hadn't stopped raining, the ground was at saturation point and many shops had sandbags piled up protecting their premises.
Soon found out how bad the situation was when our mini bus headed towards the pier. ALL THE ROADS WERE FLOODED!,
felt lucky that we actually made it on to the catamaran. At times the water level was up to our axle, reckon we just got out in time. Later that evening it was on the tv news channel.
