Welllll...... the thai islands = absolutely stunning! Imagine white sands, clear blue waters, palm trees, beach huts with hammocks, beach parties, and most importantly, the moon parties!
After a long journey from Sanglaburi involving what felt like millions of taxis, coaches, ferries etx we got to our resort, Mac's Bay. It was be-a-utiful! Couldnt have asked to have stayed anywhere better. Not sure Australias hostels will quite compare haha. We were right by the pool, next to the restaurant and facing the sea. Every night the sunset would make the beach look absoltely gorgeous, setting the mood ready for the night ahead on Haad Rin beach.
In the daytimes, we spent hours sunbathing and swimming at the pool and eating at the resorts restaurant they did the best food. Some days we took a taxi to Haad Rin for some shopping. My fave day was when we went snorkling. The resort helped us organise a day of visiting all the best beaches which were so beautiful and the weather was insanely hot and sunny, and on one beach we hired snorkles and flippers and went off into the sea. It was difficult at first to get past the coral,

Our beach huts :) but once you got a bit deeper the fish were amazing! I dont know the names of any fish but they were all very pretty colours, shapes, sizes and variations. Very memorable experience. The seas in thailand are so hot, you walk straight in and almost wish it was a little less warm so you could cool off. Thats one thing Im going to definately miss, the heat. I hate cold weather, Manchester really isnt for me, Im going to definately move abroad when Im finished with uni etc, a place in the sun here I come!
On our last day we went to Haad Rin beach for the day to sunbathe and swim, wish we had gone there more often it was lovely. The beach was fairly quiet, and there was plently to do in the area. We really wanted to jet ski, but the looking at the terms and conds, number 1 was we have no insurance for these jet skis, another one was if you flip it over you have to pay for it, also if you flood the engine you have to pay, another scarily described how carefully and what speed you have to go
at to get it off the beach, god knows how you were meant to bring it back. It was basicly a death trap. Knowing the luck our group had aswell, someone was going to get seriously hurt at the very least, so we regretfully walked away.
Another great experience, one I cant believe I waited so long to do considering its nearly impossible to avoid walking past a shop, is getting a Thai massage! On the island i finally had one and oh boy it was amazzing!!!! The woman could tell I was a little nervous, okay maybe slightly terrified (everyones says it hurts!) so she offered to make it soft. It was soooo good I have never felt so relaxed in all my life. I could do with one right now tbh! Definately worth the money it was the best hour of my life. Nothing beats being pampered like that, it made us all feel so chilled out it was incred!
I will most remember Koh Phangan for its nightlife. The beach wasnt all that busy at night, but as a group of 12 it didnt matter we still had a great time altogether. One dutch guy
I was talking to mentioned that we were the only people up dancing on the tables, we must have looked pretty stupid, but in my opinion it shows how well the english party 😊 the beach was covered in bars selling buckets, that were 'fucking strong' as they told us on the signs and we had discovered from day 1 in Bangkok. Its impossible to judge how much your drinking with them, and I have realised now thailand has come to an end, I really dont know my limit with drink. Apologies Katoon. But hey it was fun.
The Thai fire men were pretty awesome, werent they Kate. hehe. They perform with sticks on fire and chains with fire on the ends etc. and they would get the crowds to join in with fire breathing, fire limbo, balloon games and alsorts. It would turn into quite a show.
Now then, for the main attraction, the moon parties!!!! We went to the half moon party which was held in the jungle, possibly not as good as the full moon because it was quieter, but then again that could have been a blessing because we could stick with the group. We

all dressed up in neon clothing and paints. I wore a flourescent pink rara skirt along with Cat and Holly, and we wore coloured tops. The paints went everywhereeeee, I was covered, at least this time in patterns of somesorts rather than the night at Haad Rin where I was just covered in smudges of it, head to foot! As a group we looked incredible, we really went for it. The curfew on the night was dropped from 2am to 6am, and Holly and I made it back at about half 5. Brown Holly will forever be remembered as my hardcore raver roomie 😊 I think its pretty safe to say it was on behalf of everyone- EPIC night.
